The telecast will benefit the American Red Cross and be shown on NBC and its cable stations including Bravo, CNBC, USA, MSNBC and E! Other networks are invited to join in.

The concert, hosted by Matt Lauer, will air at 8 p.m. ET and will be taped-delayed in the West.

Other performers taking part include Christina Aguilera, Sting and Jimmy Fallon.

It is a shame that all the attention in on BIG cities. What happened to coverage for Crisfield, MD, Saxis, VA, Smith Island, MD and other small towns here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland/Virginia? These people work the land, water or for low pay jobs but are not getting the assistance or public attention as they are start to rebuild their lifes.

Thanks guys and ladies! Just one thing, give us the songs and the material, that made us make you what you are, and not the low key, heart wrenching and sympathetic lyrics that would make all of us think of tragedy and despair. We all need a lift and my hat is off to you, all, for doing this. One thought I have, and I don't know if it could be done, is to show this on big screens, such as in Times Square and places like that, so that the people that don't have power to watch TV can get out of their home and get some fresh air and some uplifting entertainment at the same time. Again, thanks!
