Christopher Walken declines to discuss Natalie Wood

Christopher Walken talked about his new movie, dancing and even his cat during an appearance on "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday, but one thing he would not discuss was Natalie Wood.

Walken was on the boat the night Wood died in 1981. Her death was declared an accident until earlier this year, when the cause was reclassified as "undetermined."

When asked about that night by "CTM" co-host Gayle King, Walken wouldn't talk about it.

"I stopped talking about that 30 years ago, and there's so much information, books and Internet and, you know, everything. Anything you want to know, go look," he told her.

"You knew that was coming, didn't you? You knew that question was coming," King said.

"It comes a lot," he replied.

He also declined her request for him to dance, as he did in the music video for Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice."

"That's another thing -- they say 'tap dance.' If I go dance for you, will you toss coins?" he asked. "I am not going to dance today, thank you."

Walken appears next in "Seven Psychopaths," which arrives in theaters on Friday. While discussing the film, he was asked why he always plays strange characters.

"Movies are so expensive to make that if you do something, and in my early time in the movies had to do with 'Annie Hall' and 'The Deer Hunter' and both times I was troubled and suicidal and I think that movies are so expensive that if you do something that works a little bit, you know, whether you're the leading man or best friend or the funny guy or the villain, that you might get asked to do that again. And I think that actors who work are lucky," he explained.

I thought I would watch a different monning news show and tuned in for the
Christopher Walken interview and was appalled by Gayle King asking Christopher about Natalie Wood.
Come on. Really? After 30 years. He was there to promote a movie.
SHAME on you Gayle. I turned it off right after that and probably will not watch again.

Are you not aware that evidence recently surfaced in the Natalie Wood investigation which could turn this case into a matter of murder? Since Christopher was a guest on Splendour, he'd be considered an eyewitness in the case. And you are more interested in a movie promo.
