Kid Rock hasn't been shy about supporting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and running mate Paul Ryan, even if it costs him some fans.

The made-in-Michigan rock musician and rapper introduced Ryan during a rally Monday night at Oakland University in the Detroit suburb of Rochester.

Born Robert Ritchie, Rock told the raucous crowd gathered at Oakland University that he believes "you have to stand for something" even if it means losing fans.

"It is a little difficult to put myself in this position knowing it may alienate a few fans, but you know what I really believe strongly that it's okay to disagree on politics and the direction of our country without hating one another," he said.

Rock added that it was OK to disagree, particularly in a music business that he says "leans very left."

He quieted the crowd a bit when he shared his pride over the election of Barack Obama as the first black president. But he quickly added he was sorry Obama "didn't do a better job."

"I really wish he would have -- I do," said Rock.

Rock then introduced Ryan, calling him a "fellow hunter, a fellow fan of rock and roll and a great Midwesterner."

Remember Kid Rock is just a man who got lucky and the 47% helped him get there. He is endorsing a candidate that changes his position like the wind. It is very hard to believe Kid Rock who is a mediocre singer took this position but thats show business.

First of all if read my post I said I understand why someone so rich supports Romney, because that is who should be supporting him because Romney will take care of the wealthy. It meant that anyone in the middle class supporting Romney is voting against their own interest. It is not hypocritical plenty of wealthy people support Obama but those wealthy individuals understand Obama is for protecting the middle class and they still choose to support him they are voting against their interest but ar protecting the people who made them who they are. Kid Rock comes from the Detroit area and Mitt Romney himself said I would let Detroit go bankrupt. Many of those workers and businesses who listen to Kid Rock helped him to get where he is today. Those are the jobs and businesses Mitt would have let go down.. Anyone from Michigan or any of the states that rely on the Auto industry that supports Romney does not understand the impact that would have had on the economy.. Mitt plain as day would of put millions on the street. President Obama invested in the workers of this country. Someone on this post blames the unions for the country for the disarray is very contrary to the truth. How about companies like Bain Capital who profit off of sending our good paying jobs out of the country. Mitt himself helped send these jobs out. I find it fascinating that you blame the workers and not the corporations for killing this country. They outsource our good paying jobs for an increase in profits they still would thrive if they built in this country but they are greedy and don't care about anything but getting richer. You guys keep supporting Romney and vote your self out of a job because that is what happened under Bush and Romney has a similar plan to trickle down nothing to you.

I think you have missed the last four years and are stuck in 2008. WAKE UP!! Bush is not in office. Time to recognize the ABJECT FAILURE that is Obama. He has set a record for the number of people out of a job in a number of categories. Obama's policies are very simple, punish the successful and use the money stolen from them to buy votes and prop up the lazy. While that MAY work in the short term, it NEVER works in the long term and typically ends with a communist dictator in charge. Redistribution of wealth is a horrible idea and the fact that Obama has NEVER had a real job, operated a business, or even signed off on a Federal budget PROVES he is not fit for office. Oh and once again, OBAMA LET DETROIT GO BANKRUPT! But, lets not let facts get in the way - it sounds so much better when you spew talking points from the Democrats. Interesting how you do not mention all the jobs that Bain Capital saved here in America. But again, lets not let facts get in the way. The Democrats, have decided that Bain Capital is evil and you just parrot their talking points. Obama is NOT for the middle class, Obama is for himself and anything that gets more power for himself and the Federal Government. Obama is for government control and Romney is for individual freedom.

Mr DMBPL557, I was referring to Romney going back to policies that destroyed our economy going backwards the trickle down that is proven a failure. The other point was Bain and other companies are sending good paying jobs out of the country. President Obama made a decision to save the Auto industry, Romney is the one who said he would let Detroit go bankrupt. Those are facts you can not change them not a talking point. I hear your Tea Party rhetoric I am not a Democrat I am an Independent, Romney is a liar and a flip flop king he changes positions more that a new born changing diapers. He is a candidate of multiple choice. The freedom Romney is for is freedom to stash his cash offshore and make sure that the wealthy of this country stay wealthy. If he wins you will see more people hurt and less people making a real wage.

Kid Rock is wealthy, so Romney was the right choice for him. FOr the rest of us who aren't wealthy? Not so much.

Though I do find it pretty funny that Kid Rock's best performance, a sex tape with Pamela Anderson, is what the GOP would consider a "family-friendly" endorsement.

Seriously? So how do you explain the wealth of Scarlett Johannson, Sean Penn, Cameron Diaz, Natalie Portman, Eva Langoria and all the other multi mega wealth followers of Obama? Obama is also a wealthy man, that is beginning to grow old....and all the sex tapes of the stars that follow Obama? Come on stop the hypocrisy, don't be a poor sportsman

Why isn't CBS headlining the news that Romney is ahead of Obama in the latest PEW poll? They're happy to headline every major poll when Obama was leading. One interesting take-away from the Pew poll was that " A majority of those polled (54 percent) agreed that "President Obama doesn't know how to turn the economy around"". It seems that all the libs have left at this point is to claim that Romney/Ryan are somehow lying, since Obama has absolutely no record to run on and nothing he can point to that he has actually done to contribute to the economies anemic recovery (if you can call it a recovery). The fact of the matter is that the economy is slogging along "IN SPITE" of Obama's policies which have burdened businesses, small and large, with more regulations and more costs (including the behemoth Obamacare bill) and have prohibited them from hiring more workers out of fear of what the future holds. If Romney/Ryan win this election, you will see an immediate surge of confidence among business owners and they will begin hiring and investing again.

You want CBS to highlight when Romney is ahead in the polls? Well, maybe because CBS knows that the Republicans said that when Obama was ahead in the polls: 1) They don't TRUST polls; 2) polls are "fixed"; 3) they don't BELIEVE in polls. But now they do. Same way as they did for unemployment figures: If they are bad, they believe them. Unemployment goes down, it's a conspiracy and the numbers are fixed.

Exactly my thoughts... however, it really is a one-way street. The libs of today do not subscribe to the old adage "I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it". Instead, they resort to blacklisting or silencing their opposition. Look at what they tried to do to Chik-Fil-A a couple months ago. It's sad, but as long as they control the majority of the media, it's likely to remain this way.

The celebs on the left dont risk their careers when they are in support of a candidate on the left..that is why so many come out to support Obama..I find it funny that some here would post comments saying its no surprise Rock being rich would support Romney as if the millions of other celebs supporting Obama on the left are not wealthy..If Romney was only for the wealthy wouldn't he also be getting their support..its because many dont share the same morals as conservatives..they also dont want to risk their no moral Hollywood careers by voting for someone on the right.
