Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez to co-host "The X Factor": Report

(CBS News) Are Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez the new hosts of "The X Factor"?

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but reports say the two stars are close to signing deals to co-host the reality competition. An announcement is expected later this week, according to TMZ.

An X Factor insider also confirmed the news to CNN, saying, "Those two want to do it, and the show is keen to have them." They would replace Steve Jones, who left the show earlier this year.

The series has a whole new look this season with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato taking over for judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul.

The new season of Simon Cowell's show is already under way. New hosts will step in when live shows begin on Nov. 1.

Any Kardashian or their mother on any show is enough to keep me and my family from watching. Relative to Mario Lopez, he comes across as so insincere and full of fluff, I find him annoying to watch on Extra...so, I haven't watched Extra for many months for that reason. I used to appreciate Simon Cowell on American Idol...but now, he just seems so self-serving and lecherous. Haven't watched X-Factor but for maybe 3 minutes. Nothing special about it...uninteresting. In the off Idol season, I prefer "The Voice". Great chemistry among the judges.
