Obama's "Jedi mind meld" gaffe stirs jokes on Twitter

President Obama set the Twitterverse on fire when he mixed science fiction references during a sequester-related press conference Friday.
Obama said he couldn't do a "Jedi mind meld" to force Republican leaders to come to an agreement over the sequester, which will cut $85 billion from the budget this fiscal year and $1.1 trillion more over 10 years.
President Obama as Mr. Spock
/ CBSCBS Boston reports fans were quick to react to Obama's mix-up of sci-fi references and the term "Jedi mind meld" quickly went viral on Twitter. The term "Jedi mind trick" is from "Star Wars," while "Vulcan mind meld" is from "Star Trek."
Other Twitter users were quick to point out that there is such a thing as a Jedi mind meld, although technically it's a Force meld that is sometimes called a Jedi meld. According to Wookieepedia, the term appears in the expanded universe novel "Star Wars: Outbound Flight."
The White House ran with the jokes and released a photo response of its own on Twitter, with a caption that reads: "These cuts aren't the solutions Americans are looking for. To deny the facts would be illogical."
Obama just confused Star Trek and Star Wars by saying Jedi Mind Meld. I think it's time to impeach.

Obama said "Jedi mind meld"? Uh-oh! He thought Congress was partisan, they're NOTHING compared to the Star Wars vs Star Trek nerds.

"Jedi Mind Meld"?? No reaction from GOP, but Obama is banned for life by Comic Con.

Pres Obama Mixed Metaphor of the Day: The "mind meld" is not a Jedi tool from Star Wars, but a Vulcan ability from Star Trek.

See, Obama didn't flub a term; he's just a moron.
...
Are you sure you don't want to go back to "Jedi Mind trick" which makes sense in context?
If you're going to demand that we accept Obama wanted this term; because he's an idiot who wants opposition to him to be stronger I guess we can go with that.
But only if you're sure that's what you want to argue here.
He is NOT AN IDIOT!!! An idiot is much smarter then he is.
It's true and it is a beautiful state. I think psychiatrists call it "a state of delusion".
