Apple is just starting to catch its breath from the iPhone 5 and new iPad releases, but already rumors of its next smartphone have started to circulate.

CNET reports that the French website Nowhereelse.fr claims to have spotted a prototype of Apple's next iPhone -- the so-called iPhone 5S -- on an online forum.

The prototype shows a smartphone with the iPhone 5's body, but with minor tweaks to the inner components.

Apple announced the iPhone 5 on Sept. 15. The new smartphone features a larger display, 4G LTE and a new Lightening connector.

Going by Apple's typical release calendar, there should not be a new iPhone until next fall. However, the tech giant surprised fans with an update to it's the iPad in October -- about 7 months after it announced the third-generation iPad.

Apple did not immediately respond to CBS News' request for comments on the rumors.
