Study: "No scientific evidence" that cell phones are harmful

Josh Miller

(CBS News) It's a common fear: cell phones are giving us cancer! Despite several studies assuring that there are no health risks associated with cell phone use, it's a fear that just won't go away. The latest study gets right to the point: "There is no scientific evidence that low-level electromagnetic field exposure from mobiles phones and other transmitting devices causes adverse health effects."

A comprehensive, 200-page study by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health looked beyond mobile phones to all wireless networks. A popular argument when discussing the dangers of cell phone use is that electromagnetic radiation from mobile devices can damage human cells and possibly cause cancer. But the Norwegian study found that the electromagnetic fields generated by mobile phones are all below thresholds recommended by the International Commission on Non-ionising radiation protection (ICNIRP). Those thresholds are set to be fifty times lower than the minimum value of electromagnetic radiation required to cause heating of human tissue or stimulation of nerve cells.

So cell phone radiation is below the danger threshold, but what about damaging effects even at those low radio levels? To quote the study: "The group found no evidence that the low-level fields around mobile phones and other transmitters increase the risk of cancer, impair male fertility, cause other reproductive damage or lead to other diseases and adverse health effects."

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health cites an influential Danish study in discussing possible cancer risks of cell phone use. The massive, 18-year study looked at 360,000 cell phone users and found no evidence of increased cancer rates.

It is unusual to find scientists so certain of their findings. The scientific community usually hedges their language when discussing studies so as not to overreach their data. But the Norwegian Institute of Public Health claims "the risk assessment has negligible uncertainty."

I read that the cell phones emit a dangerous non-ionizing form of electromagnetic radiation; radiation which can be absorbed by the tissues and cells which come into close contact with the phone. Then I researched ways to avoid the danger from cell phone radiation . I found cases from Pong Research, I read that this technology reduces exposure to radiation while optimizing the mobile reception. I was skeptical about it, anyway, I decided to try it, because Pong is the only technology proven in FCC-certified laboratories to reduce the exposure to mobile device radiation by up to 95% below the FCC limit without compromising the device's ability to communicate.

"No scientific evidence?" The U.S. governmet (FCC, etc.) couldn't possibly acknowledge this study, otherwise why would they have taken, years ago, the position of protecting consumers by restricting microwave exposure with SAR ratings? THEN, there are the manufacturers of cellphones who, within their own User Manuals, warn their customers of the dangers of using their product to close to their heads.

This is such a farse, and direct lie. People got tumors exactly where they hold their cellphones, behind the ear. Feel sick after using mobile phones, wireless phones. Check this site for more info

www.altermedicine.org how you can protect yourself and protect your family or friends. Remember, the phone industry can easily buy out the whole scientific research, in the past there were a lot of research studies greased by global companies, that could feel major effect if those studies would show the truth, people don't be fools

I always thought that with normal use there was no danger. But I'm worried for people who keep one glued to their head.

Yeah, I guess all those tumors growing in people's heads, on the same angle as the phone sits, is all just a coincidence, huh?

Yeah, that is correct. In reality, those tumors are found at the same rate in people who don't use a cell phone. It's called a "comparison group" erasemind, a "comparison group." When the comparison group (see above) has over several hundred thousand people in it, the statistics are overwhelming (moreso than your genius, apparently).

I know of 8 young adults that died from brain tumors. All had cell phones from a young age.

Children's skulls are much thinner than adults.

Cell phones and wireless computers....DIRTY electricity.
