CARACAS, Venezuela Venezuela's vice president said Thursday that President Hugo Chavez is fighting for his life while he continues to undergo treatment more than two months after his latest cancer surgery.

Vice President Nicolas Maduro said on television that Chavez "is battling there for his health, for his life, and we're accompanying him."

The vice president has used similar phrasing in the past, saying on Dec. 20 that Chavez "is fighting a great battle ... for his life, for his health."

Chavez hasn't spoken publicly since before his latest cancer operation in Cuba on Dec. 11. He returned to Venezuela on Feb. 18, and the government says he has been undergoing more treatment at a military hospital in Caracas.

Maduro also called for Venezuelans to keep praying for Chavez and to remain loyal to the president. He said Chavez's health had suffered because he had dedicated himself "body and soul" to his work as president.

Chavez himself has previously acknowledged that he was neglecting his health in recent years, often staying up late and drinking dozens of cups of coffee a day.

The president has undergone surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments since June 2011, when he first announced his cancer diagnosis. He hasn't specified the type of cancer or the exact location in his pelvic region where his tumors have been removed.

Chavez came to power to counter the evil left behind by the CIA influenced government that economically strangled the people of his country for the sake of American Wall St interests.

A big problem with people who call themselves socialists and communists is that they eventually reveal themselves as vicious fascists when they make remarks about what will happen "after the revolution". Usually they refer to imprisonment, forced "reform through labor" camps, and executions of "enemies of the people".

Such self proclaimed "socialists" and communists claim to care about the "little guy" but their real motivation is hatred of those whom they perceive as the wealthy or to support the capitalist system. Although they claim to be atheists, they have a remarkable unquestioning religious devotion to the writings of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin.

Their motto "from each according to his ability and to each according to his needs"

To hell with all you anti-Chavez whiners. The man gave to the people so naturally the wealthy right wing in the US hates him because he cares about the people not only the wealthy and the major corporations. The people put him back in power after a US led coup had briefly cost him the presidency, but the people stood together. Shame that the working class here in the U.S is so brainwashed by FOX,UNslimbaugh etc. that they simply let the wealthy continue to gobble up the money and the power.

HUDGELIBERAL - I AM SERIOUSLY ASKING YOU TO EXPLAIN TO ME HOW
COMMUNISM WORKS IN THE REAL WORLD. I WILL CONCEDE TO YOU ONE THING. IF MAN COULD BE TRUSTED, IF MAN LIVED IN NERVANA OR WERE NOT FLAWED WE WOULD BE FINE. HOWEVER, MANKIND HAS LAZY PEOPLE, GREEDY PEOPLE, UGLY PEOPLE, PRETTY PEOPLE,DICTATORS,AND,ALTURIST,SMART, GIFTED, DUMB,
AND UNTALENTED, HARD WORKERS, AND PEOPLE WHO WOULD HARDLY WORK.
WHAT OTHER MEANS THAN YOU TAKE WHAT YOU PUT IN WILL WORK. I AM
SERIOUS AND LOOKING FOR THE ANSWER FOR 4 TO 5 THOUSAND YEARS.

I feel these extremes in political structure are the simple result of mans ambitions and faults.
I have to ask a question to anyone who would know, can a cancer of the sort President Chavez has be the results of a biological assassination?
