Libya arrests suspected Christian missionaries
TRIPOLI, Libya Four foreigners were arrested in Libya on suspicion of distributing books about Christianity and proselytizing, a Libyan police spokesman said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Hussein bin Hamid said the suspects were from South Africa, Egypt and South Korea, and one held both Swedish and U.S. nationality. The Swedish Foreign Ministry confirmed that a dual national Swedish-American citizen was arrested while traveling on a U.S. passport. The U.S. Embassy in Libya declined comment.
Spreading Christianity is a crime in the predominantly Muslim North African county.
The four were arrested in the eastern city of Benghazi on Tuesday and are under investigation for printing and distributing books that proselytize Christianity. Police said they found 45,000 books in their possession and that another 25,000 have already been distributed.
Bin Hamid said that embassy officials have visited them. He would not say where they are being held.
Last year, the International Committee of the Red Cross had to suspend its activities in Benghazi after assailants launched attacks on its offices. The aid group was accused by some in Libya of distributing Bibles and proselytizing.

It is interesting that all the turmoil in the world today is happening in the countries listed in Psalm 83 ........Soon 10 countries will form a 10 nation confederacy out of which the anti-christ will arise..........their common denominator will be their hatred of Israel....and persecution of Christians.....Will they hold the world at ransom for their oil?? Ahmadinejad of Iran also proposed forming a new group of 10 or 11 countries to work to end the 18-month Syrian civil war. The Bible says the leader of this 10 nation confederacy will be the anti-christ..........

Have you heard of the "Inquisition Courts" in Spain (Al-Andalus) after the fall of Granada to the Christians, where Muslims (and also Jews) were hunted down in a house to house search and forced to convert to Christianity or be put to death. Many Muslims and Jews escaped to Muslim North Africa. Jews also escaped to Muslim Turkey.
The savage crimes have been committed by Christian throughout history from the first, second and third crusades to WWI, WWII (Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia), Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen and now Mali. Stalin alone murdered no less than 25 million Muslims and destroyed tens of thousands of mosques. I wouldn't talk about savagery or brutality or terrorism or civility if I were you. If your house is made of glass, do not thow stones.
