Spain arrests woman with cocaine breast implants
MADRID Spanish authorities say they have arrested a Panamanian woman arriving at Barcelona airport with 1.38 kilograms of cocaine concealed in breast implants.
The Interior Ministry said Wednesday that border police noticed fresh scars and blood-stained gauze on her chest as well as pale patches beneath her skin.
The woman said she had recently had breast implant surgery. The statement said police were suspicious and sent her to a local hospital where the implants were removed and found to contain cocaine.
The woman arrived in Spain from Bogota, Colombia.
European authorities routinely submit passengers arriving from Latin America to stringent checks to combat drug smuggling.

- They more than likely did a chest x ray at the hospital before opening her up which would show the cocaine.. They didnt just take her in and open her up. very unlikely.

- Let this be a warning to all you travelers with recent surgery scars going to spain and they may open you back up in surgery to determine your innocents. Not saying this didnt turn out to be justified but is it the world anyone wants to live in where they can essentially cavity search or cut you open to prove your innocents?

- I feel like, at least in the US, she could do some serious legal damage for being forced to go the hospital to have her breast implants removed... I'm genuinely curious what OTHER suspicions led to them demanding her freaking chest being ripped apart. again. I can't believe they would impose a surgical procedure on someone if they weren't already sure there was something ELSE in those implants!!
