(CBS/AP) JERUSALEM - Israel's prime minister urges the international community to get tougher with Iran, saying that without a "clear red line" Tehran will not halt its nuclear program.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his Cabinet Sunday that Iran does not see international determination to stop its nuclear activities, and instead is using talks with major powers to "gain time" while advancing their nuclear program.

The U.N. nuclear agency last week concluded that Iran has expanded its nuclear activity at a heavily fortified underground site and effectively shut down inspections of a separate site suspected of being used for weapons-related experiments.

Referencing the IAEA report published last week, Netanyahu said, "While the international sanctions are indeed making things difficult for the Iranian economy, they are not delaying the progress of the Iranian nuclear project. ...

"I believe that the truth must be told - the international community is not setting Iran a clear red line, and Iran does not see international determination to stop its nuclear project."

The prime minister also remarked on anti-Israel statements made at a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran last week. "They heard contemptuous, anti-Semitic remarks by the ruler of Iran, and this was in continuation of his statements about the destruction of Israel. Nobody stood up. Nobody left the hall," Netanyahu said.

Israel has threatened to attack Iran if it believes international sanctions and diplomacy are failing to curb Tehran's disputed nuclear program. Iran says its program is solely for peaceful purposes.

Netanyahu's latest comments reflect Israel's stance that time for military action is quickly running out.

Mutual Nuclear Deterrence is a civilized use of nuclear weapons...

Mutual Nuclear Deterrence makes BOTH venues unsafe for war.

A few nukes can deter many nukes.

Israel can close off the entrance to their enrichment facilities with fighter bombers. If that is not enough, we have B2s and major bunker busters to finish the job.

One way or the other, Iran will stop enrichment or we will stop it for them. There is NO negotiation and this is NOT negotiable. The only ones that think it is are the Iranians and they are mistaken.

What a wahoo. You do realize that Iran has a legal right to a nuclear program under the agreement they signed? Until you can prove they're in violation of that, why would you beat the war drum so? You talk like an Israeli firster. x

knsn: I for one am sick and tired of Israel laying this guilt trip on the US. It plays that "holy land" card non-stop. We've been supporting them since 1948 (64 YEARS). They need to make their own way in the world and stop demanding that everyone carry them.

Israel wants to demand something? Let's see, we give them between 3 and 4 billion a year for FREE.. The exercise that the article alludes to is being paid by the U.S. Let me see here, a little country of 7 million is telling the U.S. what we should do?? I'll tell you want, suspend the exercise, and stop all FREE MONEY to Israel. Watch them change their tune.

I have read most of these posts AND YOU WARMONGERS ARE JUST PLAIN CRAZY! This is for all of you "Historically Challenged Individuals". In 1953 The democratically elected government of Iran was overthrown by the CIA and Britain's MI6. This led to the "Shah of Iran" dictatorship up until 1979, during which thousands of Iranians were killed, tortured and repressed and the oil flowed to the west like honey. Further when the "Shah" was kicked out of the Country, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini wanted the Billions of Dollars in Iranian assets deposited in the "Chase Manhattan Bank" released to Iran. This would have caused the 3rd largest bank in the world (at that time) to fail. The U.S. was having none of that, nor was David Rockefeller, Chairman & CEO of Chase Manhattan Bank and founding member of the Tri-lateral Commission along with other commission members such as Paul Volker, Alan Greenspan and Zbigniew Brzezinski. Eventually this led to the Iranian hostage crisis and oil embargo. Now since that time we have backed Iraq (under Saddam Hussein) in their 7-8 year war with Iran, we have shot down an Iranian civilian passenger jet killing all 290 civilians on board in 1988 and have yet to return the billions of dollars in Iranian money over to the Nation of Iran. The fact that very few American citizens are even aware of the above mentioned circumstances lends proof that europeans view us as a nation of dummies lacking minimum comprehension as to the "cause and effect of our actions.

NOW IRAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM IS THEIR BUSINESS. We can't tell another nation how to protect their citizens from other nations that engage in PREEMPTIVE WAR (ACTS OF WAR). Israel is the first nation to pass nuclear secrets and technology to another country (Apartheid South Africa, Google "Vela Incident"). Israel's sentiments concerning "minorities" was evident in that move. Now as to the threatened attack by Israel on Iran and its nuclear facilities. Any attack is an impossibility due to several insurmountable conditions. First it would be a suicide mission, a one-way trip, and their citizens aren't suicial. Second they would have to get permission to do a fly-over of Iraq or Jordan and that won't happen, their jets and bombers would be shot down (THE SOVIETS AND THEIR GROUND-TO-AIR MISSILE BATTERIES RIVAL AMERICA'S). Next they would have to be in a position to contend with the astronomical increase in the price of oil and the economic disaster that would befall every nation on the planet as a result of their actions. Do you think China or Russia or America would allow that to happen. They would be a nation of pariahs treated as lepers by the rest of the world and Israel, as a nation, could not survive if they were not destroyed "out-of-hand". They can talk all they want but everyone knows that the world will not allow Israel to drag it into WWIII.

Iran's rhetoric is irrational and confrontational. Does Egypt or Jordan fear an attack by Israel? The only purpose of Iran's nuclear program is to build a nuclear bomb. A bomb in the hand's of a leadership that talk like terrorists, fund terrorists, and will be able to act like terrorists.

By the way, war isn't an answer for anyone.

Iran should do NO enrichment at ALL. They have at least one heavy water reactor that needs NO enrichment. If they use all that type, they will never need to enrich. That is the ONLY type of reactor they should be authorized to use.

Read the thread, earth. Any time you've asked about Egypt, you've been answered. We ARE critical of Egypt.

And what does Egypt have to do regarding an article about Iran and Israel? Oh, right, NOTHING.

All you have are distractors, since you are an apologist for Israel.
