(AP) NEL-ARISH, Egypt - A senior Egyptian security official says masked gunmen have killed 13 border guards with automatic rifles and weapons mounted on vehicles in an attack on a checkpoint along the Egyptian border with Gaza and Israel.
State TV said the Sunday attack was carried out by Islamist militants, but did not report on casualties.
The security official said seven other guards were wounded in the attack.
It took place around sunset, when the troops were having the traditional meal at the end of the daily Ramadan fast.
The official said clashes left 13 Egyptian border guards dead. He said the attackers seized an armored vehicle before driving away.
He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not allowed to speak to reporters.

That is interesting. Why would terrorists try to escape to Israel? If they were Hamas or whatever, wouldn't Israel be the last place on earth they would they would try to escape?
My guess is that, they terrorists were Israelis, and the Israeli Air Force destroyed the terrorists and their vehicles to completely wipe out any evidence that the terrorists have ties to Israeli military.
That is interesting.....destroy the evidence ?.......you can figure out who what and where from the vehicle even if its in 1000 pieces through forensics.
Obviously, your either too laxy, dumb, or would figure out how interesting it is to blame Israel for the increase in the price of tea from China.
Hamas would enter Israel just like it always has in the past 25 years.
How are things this morning in Tehran ?
