Hillary Clinton "outraged" by new Syria massacre

(AP) WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says she is outraged by reports of a new massacre in Syria and is demanding that the U.N. Security Council take action to stop the violence. She also called for an immediate ceasefire in the area of the massacre so that U.N. monitors can get there.

Clinton said in a statement Friday that Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime is deliberately murdering innocent civilians as it tries to put down 16 months of unrest and that history will judge the Security Council if it fails to act.

"History will judge this council," she said. "Its members must ask themselves whether continuing to allow the Assad regime to commit unspeakable violence against its own people is the legacy they want to leave."

Although she did not mention them by name, Clinton's warning was directed at Russia and China, which have blocked previous U.N. efforts to impose sanctions on Syria.

The U.S. and its allies want the council to give full endorsement to a plan for political transition in Syria put forward by U.N. envoy Kofi Annan and lay out consequences for noncompliance with the proposal.

Earlier, U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon accused the Syrian government of violating U.N. resolutions by using heavy weapons against the village of Tremseh, where reports say as many as 100 were killed and urged the council to take "collective action" in response.

The opposition says the attack on Tremseh - in which gunners rained shells on the village before armed thugs moved in - marked one of the worst single days of bloodshed in the uprising against Assad's regime.

As usual with this Administration - very long on words, very short on action. Russia and China continue to fund terrorists for oil. Iran builds nuclear weapons and all this administration can do is wag a finger at them and impotently say "I'm warning you . . . " when the whole world knows they will do nothing. Too busy making American in a economic wasteland just like Europe to be bothered with the mounting threat of a radicalized Islamic threat with nuclear weapons who slaughter indiscriminately. Amazing incompetence - amazing.

Hillary is such a hypocrite. She voted for the Iraq war which caused the death of alot more civilians than this war. The UN was setup to stop wars between nations like the Iraq war and not civil wars like what is going on in Syria.

Guess what? (no brainer here). Clinton and the UN crowd still playing us all off like fools. We are mindful that there is no such advantage for the Syrian government to launch such an attack, but the rebels gain political advantage doing so and blaming Assad. Guess what Hillary? People are seing through you and your UN NWO plotting.

Funny.

She shows no such outrage when Israel takes tanks and attack aircraft and unleashes them on Palestinian refugee camps.....

The UN is useless - just find other means of bringing Assad regime's down.

And what does that mean? I'm sure Assad is not concerned at all. If he is willing to kill innocent women and children, Hillary being angry with him is not going to matter. Besides, what are we going to do about it? We cannot police the entire world. It's a shame but what can we do, really? We are stretched way too thin militarily speaking; how many tours of duty can one shoulder handle before he goes berserk? An when is the rest of the world going to stop giving this issue lip service and do something? Why does it always have to be us?
