SEOUL, South Korea - North Korea says its new leader, Kim Jong Un, has ordered troops to launch a powerful retaliatory strike against South Korea if provoked.

The official Korean Central News Agency reported Sunday that Kim issued the order during a visit to front-line military units, including one that shelled South Korea's Yeonpyeong Island in 2010, killing four people.

South Korean and U.S. troops are to kick off annual computer-simulated war games Monday. North Korea has threatened a "sacred war" over the drills.

U.S., N. Korea hold 1st nuke talks under new Kim

A senior U.S. envoy said Saturday that ties between the two Koreas need to improve before North Korea and the United States can achieve real progress in their relationship.

Glyn Davies made the comments in Seoul after nuclear talks in Beijing with North Korean officials.

You can expect these words and reactions from North Korea just as you can expect the sun to rise in the morning. Few things are new. For most of the South Koreans civilians , this is a big yawn. The high levels of South Korean military takes the north very serious (the conscripts, not so much), but it is such a truly closed society their intelligence is virtually nothing.
Nothing is new, nothing is exciting about North Korea government.. China will influence how North Korea develops. When Pres. Richard Nixon opened up to China, the whole North Korean situation has been locked in for over four decades.
There are many good documentaries on the video webchannels. One has a crew tracking down North Korean workers doing timber cutting work in Western Russia, south of Siberia. North Korea is a slave state that is terrible to live in. The late Atheist Christopher Hitchens, as well as many Christians have wrote many good articles about North Korea.
'Containment' is the policy towards North Korea. Militarily, there are two issues with North Korea. Nuclear weapons development is not so strong. New Hover crafts for invasions and high power jammers that disable ( a good many) aircraft and missile systems. The North Koreans are serious, true believers. But believe is not enough, any assault against the South would lead to the defeat of North Korea. After launching serious artillery assaults, they know from their study of the Iraq war, they have little chance.

Hi POSTING,
I think Bush was foolish & at times down right stupid, but to say he was 100% responsible is simply not intelligent, or the proper use of one's brain.
There were many other actors in that play to include but not limited to Congress.
I suppose you are believing that Obama is 100% NOT responsible for our current predicament.
Your statement is robotic Group-think.
===================================================
You are wrong.
He made the final decision.
It is HIS fault.
Obama is NOT 100% to blame for our current predicament.
It is Bush's fault. His stupidity will be felt for DECADES.
Invading Iraq / Afghanistan has made us MILLIONS of enemies.

It is the fault of the people who bought houses they could not afford.
It is Phil Gramm's fault for leading the repeal of Glass-Steagal.
It is the fault of Wallstreet for selling bogus mortgage-backed bonds.

It is YOUR fault for going to Walmart and buying Chinese made KRAP.

AND .. It is somewhat Obama's fault.

Just as Bush was blamed for the whole world and Clinton and the UN for TEN YEARS telling everyone that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. However when Bush said it he was a liar. So yes what ever happens it will be on Obama just as it is always for all presidents.
==========================================================
Excellent spin job there, Sparky.
Bush is 100% responsible for the Iraq debacle.
He cherry picked the intelligence and made an
incredibly stupid decision. We will be paying the bill
for his ignorance for decades to come.

Bombing is the only thing they will understand.
====================================================
Of course.
Look at all the good things that bombing has done for the
world already.

He demanded 300,000 tonnes of food to resume 6-party talks about his nukes etc.

Let's just completely ignore him, and let him starve his own country.

NK is strictly China's problem. They literally created it. Let them cope with the fallout.
