LOS ANGELES The presumed death of former LA police officer and suspected quadruple killer Christopher Dorner has left questions over the $1 million reward in his case.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's spokesman, Peter Sanders, said Wednesday it's too early in the investigation to determine whether anyone would deserve the award.

LAPD Officer Alex Martinez says it's unlikely anyone can claim it because the reward referred to Dorner's capture and conviction.

"There was no capture and no conviction. It's kind of a no-brainer," Martinez said.

How about giving the money to the families of the officers that were killed? So will the money be put back into government's purses where it should not go?

THe people who called to say he's been there and stolen a vehicle from them should get the reward. Don't be mealy-mouthed LAPD.

I'm sad to say you are probably right. It's like when a husband kills his wife and disposes of her body and offers a million dollar reward if she is found unharmed. No chance anyone will collect it!

Now that this bloodbath is over we get to the REALLY important question. What about the money?

How about using it as reimbursement for the damage this clown caused both to families and property?

Looks like everyone will have to read the fine print for rewards before they commit to being a "good citizen". What a potential embarrassment for the LAPD.

How about the LAPD use the money to compensate the people who lost vehicles and a cabin due to the final episode then use the rest to give to the families whose daughter, son, fathers were killed by this loser. At least some good would come from the money that way.

I agree with COMSENSES2, give money to the last couple who called 911 and reported where Christopher Doerner was. I also agree to the rest. Plus an independent review must be conducted to see if the police set the cabin on fire w/o giving the chance to Doern to come out alive. The alleged police warning to him are not clear by the media.

Doesn't this all seem so familiar ... Reward for the "Grim Sleeper" never paid out ... because they never took any of the calls or emails seriously. One gal from the Newspaper in LA ... Brought everything to Light ... and I know she didn't get anything. She did do a lot of work on this case ... More than the detectives. What does that tell ya?

And yes the "Grim Sleeper" case ...The LAPD let down all those women "So-called prostitutes" but they were someone's daughter or sister or aunt ... The point is people ... civilians of any kind don't have a value. Collateral Damage does not have a value either ?? So it takes 20 years to catch someone with familiar DNA after a relative gets thrown in jail. So no one has to really do their job at the LAPD ... they get paid to sit and get fat while waiting for retirement to set in on the horizon.

When these particular LAPD detectives spent years and tax payers monies sitting in a control room located in the interiors of the LAPD trying to figure out who the "Grimm Sleeper" could possibly be ???? ... The killer just happened to be someone that was working for the police department fixing their cars. That person had access to rumor mill to go into sleeper mode ... But the point is detectives picking their noses for 20 years makes them look foolish in the eyes of the public ... Backwards ... broken down system of "Ole Boys" waiting for the big check when they retire. Useless !!
