LOS ANGELES Law enforcement officials are inspecting a package CNN's Anderson Cooper received from a former Los Angeles police officer who allegedly killed three in a shooting spree.

CNN spokeswoman Shimrit Sheetrit said Thursday that a parcel containing a note, a DVD and a bullet hole-riddled memento were sent by Christopher Dorner and addressed to Cooper's office.

LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith says LAPD robbery-homicide detectives will inspect the package for clues.

The package arrived Feb. 1, days before the first two killings Dorner is accused of.

It contained a note on it that read, in part, "I never lied."

Dorner was fired from the LAPD in 2008 for making false statements.

A coin typically given out as a souvenir by the police chief was also in the package, and riddled with bullet holes.

DORNER WAS LET GO BECAUSE HE WANTED TO STOP COPS ON THE FORCE (LA) FROM BEATING PEOPLE UP. PLUS THE LA POLICE ARE THE TYPE OF POLICE FORCE THAT IS STILL RUN LIKE WE ARE BACK IN THE 60'S AND 70'S. THEY LOVE HURTING PEOPLE THAT HAVE NO WAY OF DEFENDING THEMSELVES, LIKE PEOPLE THAT HAVE MENTAL PROLEMS. THAT IS WHAT DORNER WAS ABOUT AND THAT IS WHY HE WAS FIRED.MY NEPHEW IS NOW WITH THE SAN BERNADINO SHERIFF DEPARTMENT AND HAS BEEN FOR THE LAST 16 YEARS AND HE SAYS LA HAS BY FAR THE WORST POLICE DEPARTMENT IN CALI. MOST OF THE COPS OUT THERE ARE KKK MEMBERS AND IF YOU THINK I'M WRONG LOOK AT THE GATES FILES, HE EVEN AMMITTED TO IT AND IT'S STILL TRUE TODAY. YOU NEVER SEE THAT ******** IN NEW YORK OR ANYWHERE ELSE. SO NOW IT'S PAYBACK TIME AND I HOPE HE GETS ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand feeling like you got a raw deal and was railroaded. This world is full of corruption that is true. That still doesn't give you the right to hurt others. Two innocent people in a vehicle were hurt by overzealous officers. Innocent people that had nothing to do with the situation are being hurt. Your life is now over. You have done enough damage taking peoples lives. Turn yourself in and ask for forgiveness from God. God will forgive any of your sins if you only ask. Stop the pain now and do the right thing. It's never too late to do the right thing.

There is no God... get it?

What I get is that since 2008 this guy has been searching for restitution to no avail.. Seems like a boy full of integrity overlooked to me.

Last resort: retribution (because those that should have listened and paid attention didn't to begin with)! War on the not right.

This guy isn't crazy but he is surely disillusioned (not delusional) by a system he imagined fair and by the book.. and the representation suggests it's a another white man's lobby at the LAPD appraising other white clowns (white myself so no catch there).

Seems a formidable asset has gone apeshit over the injustice served by the self-important filth that pretend to serve you..

This one however has promise beyond the movie

That commenters here are saying his murder spree is a reasonable and rational response to the LAPD's corruption, is blood-curdling. People saying he's killing because he's "liberal," is very nearly as disturbing. I accept as plausible, if not likely, that LAPD is corrupt, and I concede that he might have been unjustly fired, but that happened a few years ago and the guy has had all that time to tell his side of the story to journalists who can investigate it. Instead of spending the last 3 years or so doing that, he did nothing ... and then snapped, going on a murder spree. Pardon me if this means I don't find him a credible witness. My guess is, his side of the story isn't as compelling or accurate as he says it is. As for him murdering because he likes Obama ... a little over half the country voted for Obama last November; if liking Obama were enough to coerce someone to go on a murder spree, there'd have been thousands of such events every day for the last couple months. Right wingers need to just give it a rest already.

I did not find what this man wrote to be disjointed ramblings of a crazy man. He made perfect sense to me.

Why would he make up a story or lie about what he saw? That claim makes no sense and I actually agree its more likely he was railroaded and fired by a corrupt department than their accusations he iied.

He is now doing what he was taught to do. He has killed although he knows it's wrong, in his last attempt to regain his own self-respect. The public never would have heard his story if he didn't do what he is doing. The military teaches soldiers how to kill others including women and children for the "greater good". This military training is what makes this man so formidable. It's also responsible for the many cases of PTSD and SUICIDES of returning soldiers who cannot re-adapt to society after learning their military lessons.

BTW ... why isn't there more outrage over the two innocent women who were ambushed and shot by overzealous cops looking to make a name for themselves by killing this man? I'd think our policemen would know how to correctly identify a truck and request a suspect surrender before riddling the entire area with bullets. Why does this vehicle look like a sieve? Surely the cops didn't shoot up the truck AFTER they shot both women?

Have the LA cops been instructed to shoot this man on sight? This is suspicious to me. Dead men cannot testify. While the man ia still a murderer, what if he has been telling the truth? Would there be a chance someone would re-investigate the charges, perhaps question him again while he was serving his life sentence for the killings he committed?

This is the USA. Police are not supposed to shoot to kill armed suspects before giving them a chance to surrender.

The Attorney General need to nteract and get the true story because the LAPD has a record of outlawing dismissed officers this officer sounds as he has been setup in the killings. He might have evidence in the O J murder aquizations or maybe the Los Angeles DRUG RUNNING COP CREW.

My guess is that he will take his own life, either after another successful attempt at a revenge act or two or upon being confronted by a LAPD search team. He has emotionally AND physically completely broken with society and any realistic life scenario going forward into the future. The LAPD knows this and understands that is why he is so dangerous at this point.

For those of you interested in human behavior, here is a classic case of an individual's personal response to constant frustration, to being considered a substandard perfromer yet internally seeing himself as a superior 'player'.
'Circumstances' throughout his life have not been in his favor, consistantly, in his eyes, through no fault of his own. As a high achiever personality, so too will be his level of response.

Man with a Cause or Man with Issus unresolved with the LAPD?

What would push you over the edge? It has been known for years that the LAPD is a ruthless lot of police that treat many in the LA vicinity unethically when it comes to intolerance. What will it take for the LAPD to implement some sort of decency with open mindedness towards their fellow human being? The LAPD is paid to protect all in the line of duty. Not all people are the enemy but it appears that over the years with the "Rodney King" fiasco and other police brutality against mentally ill persons, people of color and culture, as well as those who are mentally ill but not considered a threat has caused a stir with the citizens of LA County and people across this county to wonder desperately what the hell is going on. LA is not a military state of Marshall Law or is it? It appears that with this latest "Cliff Hanger" moment once again the LAPD is put in the limelight of disrepair. No matter how they try to fix the problem of public condemnation, they seem to think they are above the laws set for the people. Are these laws only for the people they serve? That's a good question and one that might need to be answerd publically for all who want to know. Don't be surprised if Christopher Dorner is shot dead because the LAPD does not want their "Laundry Aired" publically for all to see their digressions, because the average human being might get a Bird's Eye view of the shenanigans that go on behind those closed doors.

This lunatic is killing police and their families and wrote a manifesto that recites the democrat and liberal media personalities word for word and some on this page are asking if he is right?

America has a problem and it starts with all the crazy mans heros! We cannot have a peaceful dialog if the divisive personalities involved are going to be setting off the unstable mental cases that make up their base!

LA is run by the same democrat machine that he is making the heroes of America! There is no logic in his argument or yours!

Police are part of the problem, and you and others need to join the millions of people who want anarchy to fix this. Usurp the usurpers. Bring them to their knees. You know how many companies have led to the deaths of Americans, such as that big pharma, dairies, food companies, and it goes all the way up into city government. Until they and their families are affected they seem to get away with it, but not for Doner. He brings the battle home.
