TAMPA, Fla. Casey Anthony filed for bankruptcy in Florida on Friday, claiming about $1,100 in assets and $792,000 in liabilities.

Court records show that Anthony, who was acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2011, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in federal court in Tampa.

Her listed debts include $500,000 for attorney fees and costs for her criminal defense lawyer during the trial, Jose Baez; $145,660 for the Orange County Sheriff's office for a judgment covering investigative fees and costs; $68,540 for the Internal Revenue Service for taxes, interest and penalties; and $61,505 for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for court costs.

The filling also states that she is a defendant in several civil suits, including one brought by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez for defamation in Orange County Circuit Court.

Fernandez-Gonzalez claims she was damaged by Anthony telling detectives that a baby sitter by the same name kidnapped Caylee. The detectives were investigating the 2008 disappearance of the girl, who later was found dead. Anthony's attorney said details offered by Anthony did not match Fernandez-Gonzalez and clearly showed Anthony wasn't talking about her.

Court papers list Anthony as unemployed.

An attorney for Anthony, David Schrader, did not immediately respond to messages from the Associated Press.

The filing came on the same day that a Florida appellate court set aside two of the four convictions she faced for lying to detectives during the investigation into her missing daughter.

Anthony was acquitted of killing Caylee in 2011. Jurors convicted her of four counts of lying to detectives, and her attorneys appealed those convictions. Anthony was sentenced to time served for the misdemeanors.

She was sentenced to a year of probation after her release from jail for an unrelated case. For her protection, her whereabouts have been kept secret since she was released from state supervision last year.

So, who else in FL. or any other state is filing for bankruptcy? Why not list everyone? In fact make a list of all tax evaders working in the US. government. How about listing all tax evaders?

Former MSNBC and Current TV broadcaster Keith Olbermann landed the first interview with Casey Anthony since she was found not guilty of murdering her child. Olbermann asked the tough questions that had Anthony squirming in her seat. http://www.thedailyrash.com/keith-olbermann-lands-first-interview-with-casey-anthony

Well, I do hope you realize that it is satire and never actually happened. If you don't, you are very gullible and naive.

About

The Daily Rash is satire! Merely a parody of the life that we watch around us daily. The Daily Rash spoofs the famous people who fill our lives with beauty and who bring us so much joy. Any similarities between our stories and real life are coincidental! Nothing here is very true.

Mark Donahue is the guy in charge. After years of laughing alone he decided to share what nobody else thinks is funny with the entire world. And yes, he is still laughing alone. Probably in a damp room with little ventilation.

We may never know who or what actually happened to this precious little girl, but it's clear that someone in that family does, including Casey. She may not have been convicted and sent to prison, but Casey Anthony will most likely spend the rest of her life in a self-imposed incarceration and unable to ever walk the streets in any city without ridicule. The bankruptcy filings serve only keep her name in the public, as no one is likely to ever receive one dime of compensation.

So many people have decided that she is guilty of having killed her daughter - these are emotional judgments which could well be wrong.

Think - what if she is in fact really innocent?

In that (probable) case, not only does she not deserve all the poison and hatred spewed at her, but finding herself in her present situation must be absolutely hellish and totally undeserved.

Nobody knows for sure if she is guilty or innocent, except for herself and whoever killed her daughter if she is innocent.

She was deemed innocent by a jury of her peers, so she deserves to be left in peace and not have to contend with all that unbridled hatred and venom leveled at her.

You haven't read up on this case very much have you?
Vierotchka replies:

@Jonseen - actually, I followed it with great attention on various medias. I also have a certain amount of experience dealing with dysfunctional and abusive families and abused children, reason for which I think that she may well be innocent of the killing or death of her daughter, and I drew my own conclusions based on all the evidence and lack thereof, and all the testimonies - but I will not express my conclusion here. All her lies tend to confirm that - remember that lying does not make a person a killer, and her lies and behaviour are typical of an abused person.

"$68,540 for the Internal Revenue Service for taxes, interest and penalties". Got news for her on this one. The IRS is one of the few you can write off in a bankruptcy. Nearly every other debt can be written off except taxes owed to the government.

There were substantial changes made to Chapter 7 bankruptcy law in 2005; the only federal tax you cannot "write off" now is income tax.

Can't she just write a book and make money that way? Or has she been prohibited from writing books?

Mobeydick replies:

This is a prelude to that. If she publishes a book now those assets would be eligible for recovery from any litigation ruled against her. If the bankruptcy is awarded all claims before Friday, except from the federal and most likely the state are non-recoverable.

The poor job by the police and district attorneys allowed another murder to walk in Florida. Now she will walk away with not having to pay her bills.

Sad Sad Sad, but those whom defend her are the real tragedy.

They didn't do a poor job; they were browbeaten by the public to press charges when they didn't have enough evidence. If the public would have let justice work at it normal pace it would have taken more time most like several years more but she would have eventually slipped up! Do blame the Police/prosecutor blame the public frenzy!

I agree with most of your comments, and I do believe she will be miserable forever! And we can only hope
she will never have another child...actually I don't think she's fit to own an animal. However, I can't say I
place any blame on her family. I'm sure they had their problems, as most families do, but that doesn't make
them an accessory to murder, nor do I think there was anything they could have done to prevent what she
put her mind to do.
