NEWTOWN, Conn. A spokesman says Connecticut's lieutenant governor has been invited to attend a meeting between former Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and families of the victims of the deadly Newtown elementary school shooting.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman's spokesman Steve Jensen said Thursday night a visit by Giffords and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, is "planned but not confirmed" for Friday afternoon.

He says the plans include Giffords meeting at a private home with families of the 20 children and six school officials killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School last month. He says Giffords may also make a second appearance.

Phone calls and emails to Giffords' representatives haven't been returned.

Giffords was wounded by a gunman in a mass shooting two years ago in Tucson, Ariz. Six people died in that assault.

There were many more victims, as so many seem to forget. She was, is most the hi profile. Oh wait..... this is c. b.s. I should really not expect more from the sheep. Keep reading and believing what drivel you're fed. Next, we'll have an article about the 'master gardener' now residing in the white house. Uh- huh..... What a pity

What a Strong American Hero , and the Ladies hubby is also on the page of heros . Very Strong people that is measured by their American Spirit , but thank God there are also others in this world of decay that are also pillars of Strength such as the school girl from Pakistan that was shot for no other reason than going to school .

I do not see why she is visiting,,,enough. Don't jump my %%% and say I don't care, but enough is enough. What are they going to do??? This is something else we will read and hear about for days. Let's be honest...I am glad Gabby lived. I am. But she had the BEST care that you and I an normal..soon to be OBAMACARE recipients, would and will never have. We would have died. Plain and simple. We are not a member of any Government branch. I do not begrudge her, she has what she has. But what is the point of going to NEWTON if not to cause more headlines??? People are killed by violence everyday every way imaginable...Please, it really is time to focus on something other than those familiies sadness and grief...They really may want to be left alone???? Ever think of that???

I think that this is great.Long-term, one can make the case better for sensible reforms than Gabby Giffords, other survivors of such shootings, and bereaved family members who have lost loved ones.

To correct my post:

My point is that there is no one that can galvanize the public better than the victims of these tragedies.

I feel so bad for this woman and her family. NOW she is being used and prostituted by the anti gunners and news media. Shame on them. Did she come up with this idea? Of course not.

And you know that how? Obviously you have NO respect for her if you think she's so easily manipulated and incapable of making her own choices. You're pathetic.

I must agree with Democracy8, Alaska...your appalling lack of respect, empathy and common sense can only be explained by your morbid fear of the vast, evil conspiracy...

Entered into by all those who want to take your guns away.

And yes...you truly ARE pathetic...
