Cops: Ariz. woman runs over husband for not voting
GILBERT, Ariz. Police say a woman who was upset over the outcome of the presidential election ran over her husband because he didn't participate in his civic duty.
Holly Solomon, 28, chased her 36-year-old husband Daniel Solomon with the family Jeep SUV on Saturday night over a political argument stemming from the fact he didn't vote, CBS station KPHO in Phoenix, Ariz. reported. She pinned him between the underside of the SUV and the curb when he tried to run for help.
The husband told investigators that Solomon believed her family was going to face hardship from President Barack Obama's re-election.
Witnesses told police that Solomon followed her husband in her car through a parking lot while screaming at him. He hid behind a light pole to protect himself while Solomon circled several times. She struck him as he tried to make a break for the main road.
There were no signs Solomon was impaired either by alcohol or drugs, KPHO said.
She was booked on an aggravated assault and domestic violence.
Her husband remains in critical condition at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center, news outlet Arizona Republic reported.
It's not clear whether Solomon has a lawyer. She had no listed phone number.

If your husband had voted for Obama you would have killed him *******
Killing of dear husband because of politics is complete madness.*****!!!
"She had her say and she had it loudly and clearly! But, at the end of the day she always..."
Yes, "but at the end of the day she always"... bowed down to her "ruler". Kind of a waste to voice your opinion "loudly and clearly" if you can't follow through with what you want or believe.
"Dad always listened to my mother's opinions and wishes and he always took them into consideration when making his final decisions."
Oh my, how generous of him.
"He didn't just issue orders like a dictator!"
He didn't have to, he brain washed her into do what he wanted.
"That is something most people today don't know! My parents were happily married for 53 years!"
You mean that is what you choose to believe.
I really doubt, deep inside, that she was happy. If she was, it's only because he brain washed her into believing it. She knew no different.
And we all know that YOU have been brain washed.
"As things stand now in the US the Democrat and the Republican parties are the only two that have virtually any chance of ever winning a presidential election."
The American political system is horrendous. The names "Republican" and "Democrat" should be eliminated. And all this crap about who has the most money and donations, is just that, CRAP. Here, you don't have to have big bucks and big donations. Our election process is ONE MONTH. There is no need for it to carry on for two freakin' years. Money down the drain.
I'm not married myself but if I want to know what a marriage should be and how a husband and wife are supposed to treat each other first I'll open my Bible and read it. Then I'll ask someone who knows what they are talking about and who has been married over 50 years and is still married to their first husband or wife. I won't ask someone who's only been married a few years and I won't ask someone who's been married more than once because they don't know what they're talking about!
If I ever decide to marry I likely won't ask anyone what a good marriage should be because, aside from my parents, I had several other great examples. My maternal grandparents were married 56 years and I had several aunts and uncles who were happily married 50+ years. They knew how to make a marriage work!
And about your political system, if your candidates need no money who pays for their campaigns? Who pays for their television ads and their brochures that they mail and hand out? Who pays for their campaign traveling expenses?
I also want to remind you that Canada is still pretty much owned by Great Britain and the British royal family. The United States may be in debt to many countries but WE ARE OWNED BY NO ONE! We had the good sense to break away from Great Britain in 1776 and we are a free and INDEPENDENT country! You Canadians can't say that!
What I was saying was that this batsh1t crazy lady should have feared her own delusions instead of fearing what Obama was going to do to her. Clearly, she was more dangerous to herself and her family than Obama could ever be.
She clearly wasn't in a right state of mind. She is pregnant and perhaps hormonal changes might have had an influence. This is not normal behavior. Unfortunately for her, and her family, it was a stupid thing that will affect them for a long time.
If she was so upset with rage over Obama winning the election that she would run over her husband for not voting against him, she is either crazy with hormones or crazy with delusions of Democrats being out to get her. Either way, pretty sad.
I hope she gets the help that she needs. I can imagine her husband having some trust issues.... she is not the woman that he married. He's probably wondering when she crossed that line between sane versus insane.
