2 off-duty Fla. officers fatally shoot naked woman

TAMPA, Fla. Authorities say two off-duty Florida law-enforcement officers have fatally shot an armed, naked woman who confronted them at a social gathering.

The shooting occurred sometime Saturday in Hernando County.

The county sheriff's office said in a news release that the men were approached by an "armed, naked and irrational female." The news release does not identify the weapon, but it says "one or both of the law enforcement officers fired their weapons, striking the female." She died at the scene.

Both officers have been placed on administrative leave as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates.

Authorities have identified the officers as Hernando County sheriff's Detective Rocky Howard and Tampa police officer William Mechler, who have served six and four years, respectively. Tampa police say Mechler was "off duty and acting in the capacity of a private citizen."

she had arms and legs and was pissed because they didn't pay her for her services. That's enough reason to empty a clip into her.

In Texas, cops are each allowed two practice kills a year. Florida only allows one. Since these guys have now used their allowance, maybe they will be forced to do actual police work for the rest of the year. But if you should have the misfortune to be in either Texas or Florida, don't turn your back on a cop. There are thousands of them who haven't used their allowance yet.

Airace99 do you live in Florida? Are you aware of how many totally unarmed people in this state that have died due to poor decisions made by untrained officers? If it was only a few, you could argue mistakes will be made. When it's hundreds that's another story now isn't it. Florida has a problem with it's use of deadly force.
