NACO, Ariz. Mexico arrested two people Wednesday over the fatal shooting of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Nicholas Ivie earlier in the week, a Mexican military official confirmed to CBS News.
The arrests were made in an operation involving Mexican military personnel in the Agua Prieta municipality, also along the U.S. border, just east of where the shooting occurred. No further details were given.
Meanwhile, a law enforcement official confirms to CBS News that investigators are looking into "friendly fire" as a possible scenario in the death of Ivie.
A second U.S. agent who was wounded in the shooting had been released from hospital on Thursday morning.
The agent underwent surgery after he, Ivie, and one other agent were attacked Tuesday in a rugged hilly area about five miles north of the U.S. border. They were responding to an alarm triggered on a border sensor near Bisbee, Ariz.
The agent who was hospitalized had been shot in the ankle and buttocks.
The third agent wasn't injured.
A federal law enforcement official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said investigators who were scouring the area near the shooting had yet to find a gun in their search.
The official requested anonymity because information on the search hadn't been publicly released.

We keep hearing how certain groups (always Conservatives) are violent.
Well, here is yet another shooting by ILLEGAL ALIENS from Mexico. And CBS treats it as an isolated incident.
Why not blame all ILLEGAL ALIENS? Oh, my bad, that would be racist. It would be acist also to point out that over 70% of illegal aliens are on assistance, illegally on assistance. Oh, forgot, not newsworthy, but racist.
Too bad we can't call illegal aliens for what they are CRIMINALS!! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.
That's right, CRIMINALS! They broke the law when they illegally entered this country, and they illegally stay here, they illegally work (usually tax free), they illegally receive government assistance.
Yet, not a peep from CBS or any MSM on the criminal activity of illegal aliens.
By the way, what is the percentage of illegal aliens in jails around this country?
Maybe CBS could do an actual story on ALL the crimes of illegal aliens instead of just the sensational ones.
