RFK Jr. said wife called him day before suicide

(AP) BEDFORD, N.Y. - Newly released documents show that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told police that on the day before his wife hanged herself, she told him "everything was her fault."

Papers released Wednesday by the Bedford Police Department in New York include a statement Kennedy gave a detective after Mary Kennedy's body was discovered May 16. Kennedy said that his wife called him on May 15 and said she was sorry for everything and he was right about everything.

Much of the statement was blacked out before it was released. The visible portion does not make clear what Mary Kennedy meant by "everything."

The Kennedys, who had four children, were in the midst of a divorce.

Kennedy also describes his first sight of his wife's body, but the specifics were blacked out.

The ethic of public service in the extended Kennedy family seems silly these days. RFK, Jr. runs some sort of green foundation. Joe Kennedy distributes heating oil to the poor.

They all seek some role or limelight for community good as part of their identity of being Kennedys, but the tragedies just keep coming. The woman who killed herself's last accomplishment was to redecorate her home entirely with recycleables and green whatever. How stupid and vain is that? Even Kerry Kennedy can't keep her pills straight and eats Ambien before getting on the highway. They're not legants of achievement providing leadership. They're jokes.

He was parading around his girlfriend actress cheryl hines and he wasn't even divorced yet. He is still parading her around now after his wife killed herself. He should show more respect for his wife, he is disguisting.

I agree with you. He should never have allowed this statement to be released publicly. The Kennedys have been doing damage control as long as I can remember and will continue to do so unless the newest generation takes the lead and the legacy of scandal and deception finally ends.

Note that RFK married fellow Hoosier Emily Ruth Black. She is has been incognito -- her trap totally shut during all this. I suspect she was bought off, but rumors have always been floating her life was a living hell with him.

RFK Jr. is a pathetic delusional human. Mary Richardson Kennedy should be remembered as a warm and bright woman. He should be shunned.

Nothing he says is genuine. A snake oil salesman, and abusive husband, a distant father relying on legend and myth instead of real character... and he is a bully...a whining purveyor of untruths, who failed to find his own reality and instead belittled her and many many others.

I had a gut full of his pompous pseudo-intellectual pontification decades ago. Sadly he continues to be lapped up by halfwits and glamour hounds while leaving a trail of broken souls.

Mary Richardson was lovely and his arrogance allowed for her death. period. What a sad loss.
