(AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - The wife of Trayvon Martin's shooter has entered a plea of not guilty on a perjury charge.
Shellie Zimmerman will be arraigned Tuesday in central Florida after a judge said she lied about her and husband George Zimmerman's finances during a bond hearing.
Shellie Zimmerman was arrested June 12 and released on bond the same day.
Shellie Zimmerman, wife of George Zimmerman, arrested for perjury
Her attorney Kelly Sims entered the written plea Friday and also waived Zimmerman's right to appear in court.
George Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in Martin's shooting. He was initially granted $150,000 bond and released. But a judge revoked that bond last month after state attorneys argued that Zimmerman and his wife lied about money raised from a website.
He has since been freed on a new $1 million bond.
LoneWolfSullivan; I agree with much of your comment. For instance, in less than 2 minutes, Zimmerman could very easily have intentionally injured the back of his head on the sidewalk as well as injure his nose with his gun.
The very fact that his supposed injuries were not severe enough for him to go for immediate treatment makes it very PROBABLE that he self-inflicted the injuries, or at least added to the extent of them later
And BTW, to all the Zimmerman apologists who continuously post things he has said as fact: Remember, there were only two actual witnesses to the incident and one of them is dead and was never there to refute anything the remaining one says, therefore any, after the fact, statements by Zimmerman have to be judged accordingly.
Zimmerman has so damaged his credibility that all he has left is, "if you don't believe I am telling the truth, just ask me". I would assume that prospective jurists would consider that too
At any rate the Jury will have to reach their own conclusions.
Zimmerman may well appear very credible to you but evidently not to all of the officers at the scene, at least one of them advocated immediately charging Zimmerman.
You said; George's account of what happened is a first hand account.
The FACT of the matter is Zimmerman's account of what happened was a ONE-SIDED account.
Quote: It's up to the prosecution to prove Zim's story to be untrue. I don't believe they have the solid evidence necessary to prove what happened one way or the other. If in doubt, the jury has to acquit>>>
Yes the prosecutor has the burden of proof. However the Jury will have to acquit ONLY after analyzing ALL of the available evidence, including the FACT that even after agreeing with the dispatcher's suggestion/instructions not to follow martin Zimmerman deliberately confronted martin, thereby creating a fatal confrontation that would not have occurred otherwise.
And BTW, The Jury is required to acquit ONLY if there is REASONABLE doubt.
Fortunately, the right to a trial by a jury of your piers applies not only to Zimmerman, in this case, but also to Martin.
Hopefully, neither you nor I will be on that jury.

The 911 call was made from Zimmerman's vehicle; the killing occurred well away from said vehicle. Have you never heard of simple logic?
You are very adept at overlooking the obvious and/or twisting things in an endeavor to make them APPEAR to be to you're advantage.
Fortunately The Jurors, whom ever they may be, will decide the case and Readers of these posts will judge the accuracy and integrity of the the posters.
I hope you are comfortable with that,
You have a good day.
Why not simply have a headline saying "Shooter's Wife Pleads Not Guilty, But We Know She Really Is Guilty and We Think She Should Be Given the MAXIMUM Because We Want to Punish All the Members of This Family - Whether Her Husband Is Found Guilty or Not." Now that headline would more accurately reflect the attitudes expressed in the various articles published by CBS, NBC, CNN, and most other news media in this matter.
Simply just sensationalism and an attempt by the liberal MSM to keep this out-front and gun control in the headlines.
I also believe George Zimmerman INJURED HIMSELF after murdering an innocent 17 year old boy, then made up lies about the event to get away with murder. Accident victims often injure themselves to get lots of insurance money. There are investigators in the insurance business for this. Why has nobody mentioned this obvious fraud? Because George Zimmerman's father is a retired JUDGE with much influence.
George Zimmerman and his lookalike wife have proven themselves to be liars over and over again. And they complain that many many people want to kill them. I WANT GEORGE ZIMMERMAN DEAD! To set an example. In civilized countries not infatuated with the Amerikan "Wild West" gun obsession, George Zimmerman would be in prison on Death Row right now.
And the moon is made of Provolone Cheese.

It's about as ridiculous as it sounds to blindly believe that Zimmerman did nothing wrong to create the situation that caused the death of Martin.
The neighborhood watch rules say 1) DO NOT FOLLOW / PURSUE 2) DO NOT CARRY GUNS. Zimmerman violated those rules.
The 9/11 operator said to not follow Martin (yes, even 'you don't need to do that' is telling him not to). Zimmerman ignored that request.
I don't know what actually happened in the 'fight' that occured. I'm not going to blame either one based on the lack of sufficient factual details that we have.
HOWEVER - Zimmerman's actions caused the chain of events that resulted in the death of Martin. If Zimmerman had followed Neighborhood watch rules OR had done what any reasonable person would have done and followed what the 9/11 operator was telling him, the fight would never have happened and Martin would not have been shot / died.
In legal definitions, Zimmerman's actions created the conditions that led to the death of Martin (aka caused the chain of events to occur). Legally, this means that Zimmerman is responsible for the results of those actions that he willingly took. It's a classic case of that legal standard. If Zimmerman had done what he was supposed to do, the events that led to the death would never have happened.
I hope the prosecution has a taped confession from her saying that she knew about the funds before her testimony, or any sane person on the jury would vote to acquit because it's a 'he said/she said'.
