(AP) AURORA, Colo. - Authorities are insisting that the suspected gunman in the Colorado theater shooting acted alone even as they interview people they believe may have associated with him.
FBI spokesman Dave Joly said late Saturday the federal agency "is not looking at a second suspect" in the Friday massacre in Aurora, Colo.
Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates says "there is absolutely no question that this guy acted alone."
Oates spoke after a Denver TV station reported that police were looking for a second person of interest.
The station cited unidentified sources as saying the person was classmate of shooting suspect James Holmes.
Oates says police are talking to many people and that investigators "are trying to track down a classmate of his, but that's all this is."

I agree with a lot being said here. Example the comment about on the distorted solution the answer is more people with more guns. I would like to add a trusted individual with a gun, who probably is not trained like someone in the military or is a police officer...how would that person of without jepoardizing his own like would of made a difference with someone wearing a bullet proof vest?
I am not against hunting rifles, and even the right to own a handgun for self protection. Instead I believe if one asks themself, are my kids more safe with AK-47s are available for purchase - then there may put it in perspective, humans have not yet evolved as a species to be afforded the rights to bear such arms....
Eyewitnesses saw him leave to take a phone call. Police later found him in his car.
Between all that, a man wearing a gas mask killed a lot of people in a darkened movie theater. How can witnesses identify Holmes under a gas mask and in a theater without any light?
Face it, if someone has decided to commit murder, they are not going to care if they have to jaywalk to get it done.
Juststanding, you do have a point though. These idiots are created by the media. Listen to the song "Dirty Laundry" and then take that to an extreme and you have today's media. They have no conscience and no morals, they only care about getting the "scoop" so that advertisers will buy spots on their channel. Well, I say, lets make sure that works for us. When we catch some rabid dog like this guy, lets see to it that he dies in the most horrible fashion we can devise, and televise it. We want him screaming in horror and agony. Make sure everyone sees it and understands that if you commit this kind of atrocity, you WILL wish you died as a baby. Maybe feed him slowly into a wood chipper and feed the results to the sharks at Sea World.... Then, you do everything you can to eliminate his name from the press, don't even mention his name in the history texts. Don't give him what he wants, his "15 minutes of fame".
Had there been a few people in the theater that were armed, the shooter would be in the morgue, not under arrest, and there would be fewer copy-cat murders in the future.
I used to know a student who was living off of student loans as well due to being unemployed... I wonder how she is doing...
