Tornado touches down on Va.'s Eastern Shore

(AP) ACCOMACK, Va. - Authorities are responding after a tornado touched down on Virginia's Eastern Shore.

The National Weather Service reported that a tornado touched down in Accomack County Saturday afternoon. It said that trees have been uprooted and buildings have been damaged.

But Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya told the Virginian-Pilot no property damage or injuries have been reported from the tornado that touched down in Locustville around 1 p.m.

Rescue services were dispatched to the scene.

Definately not any worse than 2011, Tornado season with the losses in Joplin, Mo and the other places that were severly hit. Not nearly the loss of life this year.

My sympathy for what its worth goes out to those who lost loved ones, and their homes. just remember Joplin, things could be a lot worse.

Congress must approve funds to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, for disaster relief. Hundreds of billions of dollars were wasted in the Middle East since 2001. The American People have a right to their tax dollars used in our country for domestic problems like hurricanes, tornadoes, wild fires, earthquakes, and common floods.
