(CBS/AP) THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. - Authorities say five people were killed and four others were injured when a vehicle returning to Colorado from a Boy Scout camp in northwest Wyoming veered into oncoming traffic and slammed head-on into a motor home.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol said a 3-year-old passenger in the motor home and four people in the other vehicle were killed in the crash on Highway 120 in north-central Wyoming on Saturday morning.
CBS Affiliate KKTV reports that the crash happened after the Boy Scouts and their adult companion departed the Buffalo Bill Cody Scout Camp Saturday morning.
Woodland Park High School identified the four dead in the Honda as Paul Kekich, 16; Nick Naples and Alex Ragan, both 17; and Richard Kleiner.
The Honda Element was one of three vehicles taking a group of Boy Scouts back to the Colorado Springs, Colo., area.
Hot Springs County Sheriff Lou Falgoust tells The Billings (Mont.) Gazette that the Scouts had been camping around an area known as Pahaska Teepee.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
