8 hurt in Oklahoma City shooting after Thunder-Lakers playoff game

(CBS/AP) OKLAHOMA CITY - A late night fight that escalated into gunfire and left at least eight people wounded in Oklahoma City as thousands of spectators left an NBA playoff game just a few blocks away was likely not related to the game, police said Tuesday.
Capt. Dexter Nelson said there have been no arrests in the 11:30pm Monday fight in the Bricktown entertainment district. Police Capt. Lisa Camacho said two people were taken into custody and questioned in connection with the shootings, CBS affiliate News 9 reports.
"All we're hearing from some of the witnesses is there was pushing and shoving in the area," Nelson said. "Apparently a group of girls got into it with some guys. It was shortly thereafter that gunfire erupted."
Emergency Medical Services Authority spokeswoman Lara O'Leary said seven people were taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds and that a pregnant woman was also taken to the hospital after she was assaulted in the scuffle.
O'Leary said the woman and six of the gunshot victims are in good condition Tuesday morning. One person is in critical condition.
Nelson said it wasn't clear what sparked the gunfire or if anyone involved had attended the Chesapeake Energy Arena to see Oklahoma City Thunder eliminate the Los Angeles Lakers to advance in the playoffs.

"It doesn't appear that what happened had anything to do with the game," he added.
Nelson said police are struggling to track down witnesses but are checking with nearby businesses that may have surveillance cameras that captured the incident.
A spokesman for the Thunder did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment on Tuesday.

So then TELL US how the authorities involved came to the conclusion KNOWING this melee and shooting has nothing to do with those spectators attending the NBA game if no arrest thus far?
Those victims shot were NOT at the NBA game? The article doesn't make clear WHY the authorities don't think the melee/shooting are related to the spectators @ the NBA Game..CHANCES are than NOT.. its related IMPO ..
How pathetic.
And it's not an either-or of "law abiding citizens" vs "criminals"; how do you know the shooters in this article were NOT carrying legally? This was OKLAHOMA, after all.
There are plenty of shooters who are "law abiding citizens" UNTIL they get in situations such as these.
