(CBS News) A New Jersey couple say they were booted from their JetBlue flight after their 18-month-old daughter's name appeared on a "no fly" list, reports CBS affiliate WFOR in Miami.

The couple, who asked to remain anonymous, say a JetBlue employee told them that is why they were removed from the flight and questioned by TSA agents.

The couple say they are of Middle Eastern descent, but were born and raised in New Jersey. They claim they and their daughter Riyanna were "put on display" in the terminal while TSA agents and JetBlue employees discussed the situation.

JetBlue sent the following statement to WFOR: "Upon boarding Flight 510 at Fort Lauderdale International Airport last evening, several customers were flagged in our system as being on the TSA's No Fly list. There are layers of security checkpoints in place -- from booking a flight to checking-in, clearing security and boarding an aircraft - that are enforced by the airline in collaboration with airport authorities and the Transportation Security Administration to ensure all customers enjoy a safe and secure travel experience."

The TSA said they're not involved.

"TSA did not flag this child as being on the No Fly list. TSA was called to the gate by the airline and after talking to the parents and confirming through our vetting system, TSA determined the airline had mistakenly indicated the child was on a government watch list," according to a statement from the agency.

If I were the parents, I would be filing for a name change for her. This girl will have problems flying for her whole life because she shares a name with someone on that list.

Here's the new face of terror -- children 4 and under and diaper bombs. Now's not the time to let up our guard!!! Let's deploy another 100,00 troops along with several drone squadrons to the Mexican and Canadian Borders!

Yep, the TSA strikes again, seems that the TSA and common sense reside in two different locations. This is just utterly stupid.

The way the article is worded, it clearly was a JetBlue mistake. Not to excuse the TSA (surely they went into typical full scale alert over a toddler) but with these bargain cattle-car carriers like JetBlue and Spirit, you get what you pay for, and customer courtesy takes 2nd fiddle.
