Occupy Wall Street now low on cash

(AP) NEW YORK - Occupy Wall Street in New York City could run out of cash in a matter of weeks.

A finance report shows the group that galvanized the nationwide movement against economic inequality six months ago had about $45,000 left in its main account.

That's for the week of March 2. Weekly donations plummeted to about $1,600.

The report on the group's General Assembly website says at "the current rate of expenditure" the Occupiers will be "out of money in THREE WEEKS."

There was no immediate response to a request for comment emailed to Occupy on Friday night. But a former member of the group's accounting arm cautions that the report doesn't tell the full story.

Pete Dutro said Occupiers continue to organize, launch projects, and plan for protests in the Spring.

Where do I give to keep up the heat on the Wall Street Banksters and other greedy Top 1%?

Time to wake up America and join the class war started by the greedy 1%. Join MoveOn, labor unions and over 80 progressive organizations for the 99% Spring. It is now or maybe never. The mutant conservatives will not stop until we are all worker slaves for them.

The fact is that there are too many people in the world. If selfish parents would quit trying to have children that they don't need, and if the government would put a cap on reproduction, then we would see a reduction in problems. Too many people want/need jobs and there aren't enough to go around. Some will eventually starve or commit suicide because the rich don't care, and don't want their hoards to be distributed evenly for the good of mankind. Humans will eventually kill themselves with the greed from their spiritually bankrupt lives. Have a nice day.

I'm sure our president, and his wealthy supporting members of Congress, plus Buffett, Gates, Soros, Michael Moore, Bill Maher, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, the SEIU, the New Black Panther Party, et al will be more than happy to gift them with barrels of money to help them continue their imbecilic cause.

Some of these people may be out of work because of no fault on their own. However, if you spend your days protesting instead of looking for work - you are bound to run low on cash.

Who would have thought that this group of primarily non-workers, who protest while the rest of us work, would start running low on cash.

They should go occupy George Soros' house. I bet he would give them big bucks just to leave his property.

Hail Occupy Wall Street. Time to do something big to put them on the mental map again. They blew a half million bucks getting through the winter and have nothing to show for it -- so far. But what a bunch of snide do-nothings have commented so far on this thread. Wonder who they've sold their souls to? What could they possibly care about what those kids do or don't do to save this country from the kinds of hubris, arrogance and intolerance expressed in the previous comments.

They maintain a website? Isn't that a contribution to the infrastructure created by the 1%? Doesn't that mean they have to use products by Cisco, Apple, IBM, Dell, Century Link, AT&T and more evil oppressors who supply useful products that allow instantaneous communication? How can they live with themselves.
