NYPD chief's son won't be charged in rape probe

NEW YORK - Prosecutors say the New York Police Department commissioner's son won't face charges in connection to a rape accusation.

Authorities had been investigating a woman's claim television anchor Greg Kelly raped her. Kelly is the son of NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly. He denies any wrongdoing.

The chief of the Manhattan district attorney's office sex crimes unit says in a letter sent Tuesday to Kelly's attorney Andrew Lankler an investigation determined "no criminal charges are appropriate."

The woman told police last month she met Kelly for drinks in October and he assaulted her.

The prosecutor's letter says Kelly and the woman were interviewed as part of the investigation.

Women who conduct false allegations this libelous should be taken to the cleaners, and their names should be added to a database of false sexual accusers.

This guy's name and reputation have been ruined by the rush to charge him. Our system shouldn't reveal any names until all of the facts are in and thoroughly investigated. Apparently there wasn't sufficient evidence or cause against this guy.

Sad part is he could be guilty as hell, but with his father who he is, there cannot be a competent investigation by any agency in NY, it needs to be investigated by the FBI for if not there is definitive conflict of interest.

Another case for not publishing those accused of rape or molesting until ALL the facts are in and sorted out. This man has been embarrassed so the media could have a sensational headline. Once they read that this woman had communicated with him AFTER the alleged rape, somebody should have put a stop to publishing this story. I could smell it a mile away, why couldn't they? If I were him, I would sue her lying butt.
