A gunman shot a transit officer and two passengers were shot at a Dallas-area rail station Tuesday before killing himself, CBS station KTVT reports.
The incident happened about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Arapaho Road station of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit "Red Line" train in Richardson.
DART spokesman Mark Ball says a man reported to be acting in a disorderly manner aboard a DART bus stepped from the bus and, when challenged by the female DART police officer, fired at her.
The shooter immediately fled from the station and barricaded himself in a nearby business. A police spokesman said that when police attempted to contact the suspect, they heard something resembling a gunshot, entered, and found the man dead.
The female transit officer was shot in her protective vest and her shoulder and is expected to survive. Information was not immediately available on the condition of the other two victims.
