GALESBURG, Illinois - Two people who pulled up at a McDonald's drive-thru in western Illinois completely naked face public indecency charges.

Police in Galesburg say a 19-year-old El Paso man and a 21-year-old Galesburg woman have been released from Knox County Jail after being ordered to appear in court to face the charges.

WGIL Radio reports that the duo was still in the McDonald's parking lot when officers arrived just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the man was crouched over in the driver's seat trying to pull on a pair of pants while his passenger was covering up in a blanket.

WGIL reports that the pair told officers the late night fast-food run might not have been a great idea but that they both still thought it was funny.

Unfortunately for them. the story says they told police they thought it would be funny. This means they intended to "get a rise" out of people. Which means they are guilty of Indecent Exposure. According to the laws around here anyway.

This reminds me of the time a guy was arrested for walking around in his house completely nude - the neighbor saw him in the window and called police. In his own home for goodness sakes. Jeeez.

I think streaking should be illegal but the charge should be fairly light. Sorta like jaywalking. Or "jaybird" walking.

I agree the charges should be light.

I assume you mean no death penalty. Yep, lets save the death penalty for violent crimes and marijuana smoking and for judges who don't follow strict constructionism.

I know - that sarcasms was too subtle to follow.

Truth be told, nudity shouldn't be a crime at all, in my humble opinion.

Except if your fat or ugly....hmm, lets think this through.

That they even *could* be arrested for this is wrong. There is no such thing as a "right" to not be offended.

I think this is hilarious. So what if they were nude IN THEIR OWN CAR? If they were having sex in the parking lot that would be a different story. But they weren't and they weren't running around exposing themselves either.

Bottom line - If you don't like it, don't look.
