FERGUS FALLS, Minnesota - A goat that apparently didn't want to be part of a Minnesota Nativity scene has headed for greener pastures.

The 3-year-old Angora goat was supposed to have a supporting role at Bethlehem Church in Fergus Falls. Instead it escaped its leash Saturday afternoon, and remained on the lam Monday.

The goat's owner is Jim Aakre of rural Underwood. He says he tried to chase it for about two hours, but the lack of snow made tracking difficult.

The wayward goat has been spotted several times since it escaped, but police haven't been able to collar it.

A Fergus Falls Journal report says Aakre and his wife also provided a llama and two puppies for the service.

I'm a little fascinated by some of these comments. Clearly they aren't paying attention.

nevwster1 - That nativity scene you are looking at..they are plastic, and they are from 2010. It is sort of a stock picture, not the one the goat escaped from.

This was supposed to be a humorous story. I don't believe for a minute it was meant to begin a Christianity debate. But since you brought it up..here's some questions for conversation: Why do non-Christians care what Christians believe..or vice versa? Why does any faith care what other faiths believe? Why do athiests feel the need to call everyone's faiths fiction? It is bizzare. Do other beliefs really cripple your every day lives that much...assuming you live in a country that has freedom or Religion? You really shouldn't try to change another's belief...it will only frustrate you.

Even a goat can liberate himself from the herd mentality of the Christian holidays.

Another untrustworthy Judas goat!

The llama and puppy dogs were happy to get the gig - they are going straight to Hell afterwards!

What does the Baby Jebus Nativity have to do with llamas, alpacas, dogs, and such like?
