Obama says no to new taxes, yes to ending Boy Scouts' gay ban

(CBS News) President Barack Obama told CBS News in an interview broadcast live before the Super Bowl that he sees no need for more increases in tax rates.

The president signed a bill raising rates on higher-income Americans last month, but this is the first time he's said that he doesn't intend to extend higher rates to more taxpayers. It's a change from the position he's held for many months.

Obama also made news with his opinion on the Boy Scouts. The National Board of the Boy Scouts of America may decide this week whether to end its long-standing ban on gays in scouting.

Scott, you are so disingenuous! Your interviews with parents and kids in scouting are slanted toward whether or not gay 'boys' should be allowed in scouting. I'm pretty sure most people are more concerned with gay 'scout leaders' but that never comes up in your pieces. Hmmm... Also, why does Obama feel the need to weigh in on everything that is not his business? The BSA receive no government funding whatsoever. Maybe Mr. Obama needs to focus on the economy and bringing forth a budget proposal and maybe CBS could be a little less biased! I know... in my dreams.

Scott should wake up, as Obama said no new taxes before the election, yet everyone has a new 2% payroll tax to pay, or the 20 some new taxes that are coming with Obamacare. Sad the national media just doesn't do their homework.

Obama is sticking his nose where it does not belong. The Boy Scouts is not a govt. organization; parents should make this decision who have/had sons in the Scouts. I have always supported the Scouts though have no sons but I feel that this is something that the president of the U.S. should keep his big, fat, always talking mouth out of.

Gays have already shown their mettle, their honesty in the face of approbation, by coming out. What if you are Gay can you change ? Should certain People be giving both option for entitlements . Now do we have to have Gay jails ,gay showers at schools and clubs . I sure dont want some gay sick pervo Lurking at me .. Marriage"s a Commitment to growing a Family . not to regulate Laws. A young child should not have to have sexuality in the Boy scouts . And having a gay person influence a young devolving mind is a criminal action in its self ..People change ... but at no time can you tell me gay laws are to protect people when gay should be defined as OPTION .. Well the Boy scouts should not be apart of Government . I would not Donate to a Club that would not enforce the value of raising a Family as one man and one women can only do naturally. Great headline which in fact is very misleading... He wants to increase the money money you send to HIM by reducing payroll deductions! Oh no, I mean closing LOOPHOLES in the tax code. Either way, just another way of saying more taxes!!!@%&@!
