Photographer films one second per day for 2012

Have we all eased into 2013 by now? Wow, that was fast! Some of us still haven't wrapped our heads around the new year quite yet. (Some of us would also continue to write the wrong year at the tops of our school papers until at least February, but we digress.)

If you find yourself missing 2012 already, take a tour of one man's whole year one second at a time. The aptly titled "Just a Second 2012" shows one second of photographer Kent Frost's life for every day of last year.

"El Tonto!": Creative short film about adventures in Mexico


(CBS News) Have you ever traveled to a foreign country on your own? It can be a confusing, lonely experience. (It can also be awesome, of course, but that's a subject for a different post.) It can be especially confusing if you're a sort-of-nerdy guy who doesn't speak the language and have no one to talk to until a mysterious lucha libre wrestler shows up in your hotel room.

Little girl learns a life lesson from helpful dogs

(CBS News) Parents, you try so hard to educate your children about the world. But there are some things you just can't teach them. Some things they need to learn for themselves - or, as is the case in this video, some things they can learn from the family dog. Fourteen-month old Elsie gets a lesson on drinking from a garden hose in this video, thanks to some helpful boxers.

The evolution of movie trailers

Sometimes the most exciting moments in a movie theater are not in the main feature, but in the COMING ATTRACTIONS ... parceled out in tiny bits, enticing us to buy MORE tickets.

Movie trailers got their name when they were originally shown after the feature ended. But theater owners soon discovered that when movies end, people LEAVE! So, trailers were moved to being shown BEFORE the main feature.

Aretha Franklin's musical tribute to Whitney

Whitney Houston's godmother, Aretha Franklin, honored the singer with a musical tribute during a concert in Charlotte, N.C. last Tuesday.

Franklin sang one of Houston's biggest hits," I Will Always Love You," and asked the crowd to pray for the family.

Health concerns led Franklin to cancel a scheduled appearance during Saturday's funeral for Houston in Newark, N.J.
