Ala. school guard pleads guilty in child porn case

(CBS/AP) BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A former school security officer pleaded guilty to one count of  production of child pornography on Tuesday.

Michael Wayne Wooten, 60, was arrested in November on charges that between August 2009 and April 2010 he used a vacant Birmingham, Ala. elementary school office to take photographs of young girls.

Teacher gets $23 million bail for abuse charges

(CBS) LOS ANGELES - A former elementary school teacher's arraignment was put off, and a judge raised his bail to $23 million Wednesday. The ex-teacher faces charges of committing lewd acts against dozens of children between 2008 and 2010.

CBS Los Angeles reports 61-year-old Mark Berndt is accused of taking photos of students who were bound and gagged in his classroom. Some photos picture cockroaches being placed on students' faces, while others show them being spoon fed a milky white substance that tested positive for the teacher's DNA.

Sandusky DA wants out-of-town jurors

(CBS/AP) HARRISBURG, Pa. - Prosecutors in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case asked the court Tuesday to have jurors brought in from another county. This was one day after court records revealed they plan to tell Sandusky the names of his 10 accusers.

Mother in custody for son's lethal drug overdose

(CBS) NEW YORK - A Bronx mother is accused of giving her son a deadly dose of drugs, and is now in police custody.

CBS New York reports the family of 6-year-old Carlos Rios Jr. said his drug-addicted mother gave him a mix of her methadone and Nyquil, that ultimately killed him.

Two dozen dogs stuffed in U-Haul bound for rehab

(CBS) EAGLE, Colo. - Close to two dozen badly neglected dogs are being transported to Colorado for rehab and adoption, after they were found stuffed inside a U-Haul in Tennessee.

CBS Denver reports two women, Bonnie Sheehan, 55 and Pamela A. King-McCracken, 59, were arrested in Fayette County, Tennessee after a cop making a traffic stop noticed a bad smell. The cop then discovered 128 dogs and a cat suffering in the back of the truck.
