(CBS) CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - George Huguely V was reportedly drinking heavily four times a week with such intensity that his close friends met to discuss an intervention, former teammates testified Thursday at his murder trial.

Former University of Virginia lacrosse player Huguely, 24, is charged in the death of Yeardley Love, who was found dead in her apartment in 2010, just days before final exams.

(CBS/AP) SEATTLE - Late Thursday, authorities told the Associated Press a computer in Josh Powell's home two years ago had computer-animated images that depicted "incestuous" sex.

Pierce County Sheriff's Detective Ed Troyer said the images discovered by investigators were realistic, computer-generated depictions of incestuous parent-child relations. The images were disconcerting enough that they prompted a psychologist to recommend last week that Powell undergo an intensive psychosexual evaluation.

(CBS/AP) BELLFONTE, Pa. - A dispute over whether people from the State College area will be allowed to sit as jurors in Jerry Sandusky's child sex-abuse case is the subject of a hearing in a Pennsylvania courtroom.

Friday's proceedings in Bellfonte are also expected to address the former assistant coach's request to have contact with his grandchildren and others while he awaits trial on 52 criminal counts.

3 dead, 2 critically injured after Fla. standoff

SWAT Teams swarmed the neighborhood Thursday night after a man took hostages into his mobile home.

(CBS/AP) DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - Police say three people are dead and two critically injured after a hostage standoff at a Florida recreational vehicle park.

The standoff began at Highland Woods RV Park Thursday evening and ended early Friday. Two men and one 9-year-old boy are dead while  a woman and a 7-year-old boy were badly hurt.

(CBS) - Lawyers for the man accused of killing three of Jennifer Hudson's family members want to sit down with the Academy Award-winning actress in case she is called to the stand in the April murder trial.

NBC Chicago reports William Balfour, 30, is scheduled to stand trial for the 2008 murders of Hudson's mother, brother and nephew.

(CBS/AP) SEATTLE - A Lakewood, Wash. police officer allegedly embezzled over $120,000 from a fund for the families of four colleagues shot to death in the line of duty.  He then spent the money on trips to Las Vegas among other things, the U.S. attorney's office said Wednesday.

200 more photos in LA teacher-student abuse case

(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County investigators say they have found an additional 200 photos allegedly taken by former teacher Mark Berndt, who is accused of committing lewd acts on 23 children from 2005 to 2010.

Sheriff Lt. Carlos Marquez told the Associated Press Monday that the photos were found late last week at the same pharmacy where a photo lab technician had noticed the off pictures. The recent discovery places the total number of photos at nearly 600.
