RICHMOND, Calif. (CBS/AP) A seventh suspect has been arrested in the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl outside a Richmond High School homecoming dance, during which others watched, laughed, and took cell phone pictures of the attack.

Richmond, Calif. police Sgt. Bisa French said 43-year-old John Crane Jr. walked into the police station and turned himself in without incident Tuesday evening. He was being held on $100, 000 bail on suspicion of felony sexual assault.

LIBERAL, Kan. (CBS/AP) It was like something out of the "Texas Chainsaw Murders." A Kansas man suffocated his wife before cutting his own legs off with an electric saw and bleeding to death, say police.

Police in Liberal, Kan., just west of Kansas City, were responding to a missing persons report Jan. 13 when they came upon the gruesome scene - Jose Angel Rodriguez and his wife lay side by side on their bed. She was covered by a comforter. He was covered with blood.

WACO, Texas (CBS) Young, blonde, and beautiful, Vanessa Bulls, the 27-year-old former mistress of a minister on trial for killing his wife had one simple message for the jury: He did it.

Bulls is the star witness at the murder trial of her former lover, Matt Baker, the Texas preacher who prosecutors say drugged his wife, handcuffed her to the bed under the guise of spicing up their marriage, then smothered her with a pillow until she died in 2006.

Alla Kournikova, Tennis Star Anna Kournikova's Mom, Arrested for Child Neglect

PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS/AP) Anna Kournikova, the sometimes tennis star, sometimes model, might be visiting her mother in jail in the near future.

Alla Kournikova, 46, has been arrested in Florida and charged with child neglect after allegedly leaving her 5-year-old son home alone while she ran errands Tuesday, a Palm Beach police report says.

The boy told police he jumped out of a second-story window, but was not seriously injured. Someone passing by the home found the boy and called for help.

WASHINGTON (CBS/AP) A U.S. weapons maker is supplying American troops in mostly Muslim Afghanistan and Iraq with rifle sights that bear citations from the New Testament in praise of Jesus Christ, leading some to worry the weapons will give ammunition to the enemy.

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life,"' says one inscription, a passage taken from John 8:12.
Another gunsight reads 2COR4:6, denoting the verse "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ."

Chicago Man Mauled to Death by Daughter's Pit Bulls

CHICAGO (CBS/AP) A Chicago woman came home to find her father mauled to death by a pack of pit bulls she was raising, according to Chicago police.

Johnny Wilson, 56, was found Jan. 17 lying on the floor covered in blood. His ears were bitten off, one eye was mauled, and he had bite wounds on his chest, upper body and head, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office, who ruled Wilson's death an accident.

Wilson's daughter, who was not immediately identified, turned over four adult pit bulls and two puppies to Chicago Animal Care and Control, where the dogs were being evaluated.

JOLIET, Ill. (CBS/AP) When Kathleen Savio was found dead in an empty bathtub, everyone -- perhaps especially her husband Drew Peterson -- thought she had been silenced forever. But now, she is "speaking from the grave," as some who knew her are telling the court that Savio feared her police officer husband, a former Bolingbrook, Ill. sergeant.
