Lawrence Reynolds Jr., Takes Matters into his Own Hands: Ohio Death Row Inmate On Suicide Watch After OD'ing

COLUMBUS, Ohio (CBS/AP) An Ohio death row inmate has been placed on suicide watch after overdosing on prescription pills two days before he was scheduled to be executed by lethal injection.

Lawrence Reynolds Jr. was scheduled to be executed on Tuesday for the 1994 murder of him neighbor in Akron, Ohio and was under a 72-hours watch, which is routine for inmates scheduled for execution. When guards checked on him Sunday evening they found him unconscious on the floor of his cell.

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) 1980s teen heartthrob Corey Haim had a career blighted by drug abuse.

Haim died at the age of 38 early Wednesday at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Los Angeles County coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said.

SANTA ANA, California (CBS/AP) A California man is charged with running an illegal test-taking ring for Middle Easterners seeking help getting student visas - exactly the sort of scam that sets off alarm bells about loopholes in this country's anti-terrorist security.

Police allege that for the past seven years, 46-year-old Eamonn Higgins has fraudulently helped dozens of Middle Eastern natives pass mandatory tests to obtain or keep their US student visas in southern California.

Rapper DMX Arrested Yet Again, This Time for Allegedly Using Cocaine

PHOENIX (CBS/AP) Rapper DMX was arrested for allegedly violating his probation by using drugs including cocaine. Arizona officials say this is now the fifth time deputies have arrested him.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, had served about half of an18-month probation when he was arrested Tuesday night and booked in the downtown Phoenix jail.
