NEW YORK (CBS/AP) A New York City woman who wanted a "booty boost" seems lucky to be alive, and spa owner Barbara Nieto may be equally lucky she didn't kill the woman during liposuction gone wrong.

Nieto, of Corona, Queens, was charged Friday with assault, unlawfully practicing medicine and endangering the life of Augusta Velez during the botched surgery, reported the New York Daily News.Continue »

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) New York City cops have a mystery on their hands with the death of Alejandro Bulaevsky, a  young lighting designer found dead on the floor of his posh Manhattan apartment, with his hands bound behind him and his body encased in a latex suit and mask. 

Police say there appeared to be no sign of a break-in and the latex outfit, according to the Daily News, might have been part of a sex game.

6 Months House Arrest In 'Gothic Kittens' Case

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (CBS/WFOR/AP) Holly Crawford thought there was nothing wrong with piercing kitty cats with a 14-gauge needle and selling them as "gothic kittens" over the Internet. But a jury thought otherwise and convicted her in February of animal cruelty.

Now, the northeastern Pennsylvania woman has been sentenced to six months of house arrest and is being forced to close her animal grooming business for more than two years.Continue »

DETROIT (CBS/AP) FBI raids on the self-proclaimed Christian militia group,  Hutaree, uncovered more than guns and a plot to kill law enforcement - they also turned up Nazi propaganda, crack cocaine, and steroids, according to court papers released Monday.
