Feds Shut Down "Facebook of Child Porn"

INDIANAPOLIS (CBS/AP) U.S. authorities say they have broken up an international  child porn ring that revolved around a "social networking site" that at one point had more than 1,000 members trading explicit images online.

Federal prosecutors said Wednesday, May 26 that more than 50 people had been arrested and at least 35 have been convicted of porn distribution charges since the start of the investigation in 2008.Continue »

Ethan Stacy Update: Murder Charges Filed

FARMINGTON, Utah (AP/CBS) Aggravated murder charges were filed Friday against Ethan Stacy's mother and stepfather, who police say brutally beat the 4-year-old until he died, disfigured him and then buried him in the mountains.

The Davis County attorney's office said Stephanie Sloop, 27, and her husband, 31-year-old Nathanael, are also charged with child abuse, obstruction of justice and abuse or desecration of a body, all felonies. These charges make the Sloops eligible for the death penalty.

Three Arrests Made in Case of Missing Mother

Tifton, Ga. (CBS/WCTV) Georgia officials announced Thursday that three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Sunday Blombergh.

According to CBS affiliate WCTV, Blombergh's mother-in-law, 45-year-old Ruby Evans and her stepfather-in-law, 44-year-old Roy Herman Evans are charged with her murder.

Purse-Snatching Ends in Death of ASU Student

Alabama Pol Resigns after Murder Charge

MOBILE, Ala. (CBS/AP) Stephen Nodine, who is charged with the murder of his alleged mistress Angel Downs, opted to resign from his position as Mobile County commissioner rather than face an impeachment hearing.

County spokeswoman Nancy Johnson told the Press-Register that Nodine sent a letter of resignation Thursday. He had served on the commission since 2004.

Indiana Boys Charged with Murder Appear in Court

Police say that on April 20, Colt Lundy, 15, and Paul Gingerich, 13, shot and killed Lundy's stepfather, 49-year-old Phillip Danner in his home in Cromwell, located northwest of Ft. Wayne, Ind.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (CBS/WANE) Two boys accused of murdering the stepfather of one of the boys appeared in adult court Thursday, where prosecutors asked the judge to combine the boys' cases into one trial. But defense attorneys said that would violate the boys' constitutional rights, according to CBS affiliate WANE.

Minn. Lawyer Tracking, Suing Child Porn Users

ST. PAUL, Minn. (CBS/AP) Jeffrey Anderson, an attorney who has filed thousands of lawsuits against priests accused of sexual abuse, plans to use a little-known federal law to take on anyone who downloads child pornography.

"If you choose to download images of child pornography, we will track you," Anderson said. "We will find you. We will expose you. And we will sue you."Continue »
