High School Senior Aids In Obscene Tattoo

CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) Travis Johnston, 18, one of the four young New Hampshire men accused of forcing a 14-year-old special needs student to get a tattoo pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday, according to local reports.

According to police, victim, a high school freshman, left Concord High School for three hours on May 10 and headed to Johnston's house where the incident took place.Continue »

Smugglers Threaten Police in Arizona Border City

PHOENIX (CBS/AP) Police in the Arizona border city of Nogales are watching their backs and have been told to carry guns when they aren't at work after smugglers threatened to retaliate against two off-duty officers who stopped a vehicle carrying 400 pounds of marijuana.

Nogales Police Chief Jeff Kirkham said Tuesday that he considers the threat credible because various informants were able to identify the specific officers in the city of 20,000 who thwarted the drug load earlier this month.

For 48-year-old Tracy Durham this is exactly the case. He claims he remembers hearing the pop, and only discovered the gunshot wound after a neighbor asked him about his limp.

Man Gets Life Term, Let Daughter Freeze to Death

PITTSBURGH (CBS/KDKA/AP) William Page told the judge he's innocent, said he got an unfair trial, and then was sentenced to life in prison for leaving his 23-month-old daughter outside to freeze to death after sexually abusing her.

Page's daughter, Nyia, was found dead in Feb. 2007. Page molested the girl then became angry because she kept removing her diaper. He then left her outside in freezing temperatures. Nyia's body was found in a wooded area of Rankin, Pa., east of Pittsburgh.Continue »

ASH FORK, Ariz. (CBS) Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retailer, has been the target of a text message scam that proves too good to be true, reports The Arizona Republic.

Yavapai County Sheriffs in Arizona are warning all citizens not to give personal information to telemarketers, such as credit card information or social security numbers, in order to receive a gift certificate.

13-Year-Old Babysitter Charged with Murder

YORKVILLE, N.Y. (CBS/WTVH) Police charged a Whitesboro, N.Y. teenager with second-degree murder Monday after the 2-year-old girl he was babysitting on Friday was found dead,.

The 13-year-old boy pleaded not guilty in Floyd Town Court where he was held without bail awaiting a hearing on Friday, said State Police Capt. Mark Lincoln during a news conference.

Lawrence Taylor Indicted On Felony Rape Charge

NEW YORK (CBS/WCBS/AP) NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was indicted Wednesday after being accused of rape last month.

Taylor was indicted on six charges including rape, endangering the welfare of a child and patronizing a prostitute.

The former new York Giants star is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl last month at a Holiday Inn Hotel in a Rockland County, N.Y. town.Continue »
