NEW YORK (CBS) Jennifer Kesse's sorority sisters at the University of Central Florida called her "mother hen" because of the way she looked after everyone and always made sure her "sisters were safe" - that's why it took all of them by surprise when she disappeared, apparently the victim of the very crime she tried to protect them from.

Catholic School Teacher Slain, Ex-Husband Sought

DENVILLE, N.J. (CBS/AP) Morris County authorities are looking for the recently divorced ex-husband of a high school  teacher whose battered body was found in the Denville, N.J. home where they both still lived.

County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi described 63-year-old Anthony Novellino as a "person of interest" in the death of 62-year-old Judith Novellino, who was stabbed more than 80 times. He also said that anyone who had recently dealt with Anthony Novellino should contact authorities.Continue »

Schumer: Close Loopholes in Sex Offender Job Law

ALBANY, N.Y. (CBS/AP) Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) wants a federal law to further limit the jobs that sex offenders can hold, in both the public and private sectors.

State laws nationwide currently prohibit sex offenders from working as school teachers and coaches, but most laws don't cover karate instructors, youth coaches, carnival workers, clowns, magicians, or dance instructors in the private sector.

NEW YORK (CBS) The Pacific Northwest's Colton Harris-Moore, the most wanted teenager in America, appears to have headed east, leaving a series of car thefts and airport break-ins reported in South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa. 

PICTURES: Great Escape Artist or Crook?

Police have not confirmed that the suspected thief and burglar is Harris-Moore, but the crimes have all the earmarks of the 19-year-old known as "The Barefoot Bandit" for allegedly leaving his bare footprints at the scene of his crimes.
