Gadahn Warns Against Obama's 'Deception'

(As Sahab)
American al Qaeda figure Adam Gadahn accused U.S. President Barack Obama of standing behind the killing of Muslims in Palestine, Afghanistan and Pakistan in a new videotape produced by the terrorist group's media arm As Sahab.

"O' nation of Islam, you have seen the truth about Obama in the Gaza Holocaust which he approved of, and in Muslim Palestine which he wants to turn Jewish and in Afghanistan and in the tribal areas which he bombed and is still bombing," Gadahn said.

He also criticized Obama's plan to send more troops to Afghanistan, saying it was going to result in "increasing the spilling of Muslim blood."

Like al Qaeda leader's Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahri, Gadahn urged his audience not to fall for Obama's talk about his respect for Islam, warning them that this was just an attempt to steer Muslims away from jihad.

Website: Somali Militants 'Officially' Pledge Allegiance To Bin Laden

(Islamic administration of Kissmayo)
Islamist militants in the Somali city of Kissmayo pledged allegiance to al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, according to a statement posted on a Somali jihadi blog. "The Islamic administration of Kissmayo, under the command of Sheikh Abu Bakr Zayla'I, pledged allegiance to Sheikh Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda leaders, Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri and Abu Yahya al-Libi God protect them all," the statement said.

The allegiance oath came in an audio statement voiced by the Deputy leader of al Shabab Kissmayo division, Abdel Ghani Mohammad Yousuf, and aired on a local radio station called "al Andalus Islamic Radio." He said that the group did not "fear the infidels of America and their allies, nor did they fear the apostate government in Somalia. "

The deputy leader announced in his radio address that his group gets its religious edicts from the leaders of al Qaeda. "I say to the Somali people that our jihad is an integral part of that of our brethren in Afghanistan and Iraq," he said. He added that "every aspect of jihad management in Somalia" was for senior al Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan.

President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed had told a press conference in Mogadishu last month that foreign fighters had joined the ranks of Shabab al Mujahideen group and appealed to the international community for help.

This is the first time that Islamist militants in Somalia openly associate themselves with al Qaeda, despite previous indications of cooperation and coordination between the two groups.

In March 2009, bin Laden released an audiotape that he dedicated entirely to Somalia, which reflected his interest and that of al Qaeda in the country. In the tape, Bin Laden lashed out at the newly elected Somali president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed and urged Somali militants to overthrow him.

Abul Yazid's Tape Posted On Turkish "Cihadi" Blog

(al Tae'fa al Mansoura)
A video tape of a message by the leader of al Qaeda in Afghanistan to supporters in Turkey was posted on a Turkish jihadi blog called "al Tae'fa al Mansoura" (The victorious sect) today. Abul Yazid was heard pleading for financial support in the eight-minute tape of which CBS News acquired a copy of last Tuesday. "If money which enables the mujahideen to buy weapons, food, and other gear for jihad, is not available, how could they perform jihad?" he said in the statement.

The tape was produced by "al Tae'fa al Mansoura" opened with excerpts from previous Bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahiri video followed by the audio message which was played over a still picture of Abul Yazid and footage from old jihadi videos.

This is the first time that Abul Yazid appears in a non-al Qaeda media outlet production. He has only appeared in media releases that were produced by al Qaeda media wing As Sahab- since he was named leader of the group in Afghanistan in May 2007.

Al Fajr media, another outlet of jihadi propaganda, has distributed the tape on numerous Internet website. But the content of the message, and the way it's been distributed, raise question over whether it was intended for a public audience, and whether it received the seal of approval from the top al Qaeda leaders.

Al Naqshabandiya Army Announces Creation of "Jihadi Awakening Councils"

(al Naqshabandiya Army )
The Iraqi insurgent group al Naqshabandiya Army announced that it has signed "loyalty and honor agreements" with a number of tribal dignitaries and chiefs in southern Iraq. According to the terms of the agreements, those tribes would pledge allegiance to the Supreme Command For Jihad and Liberation, led by Saddam's former deputy Izzet Ibrahim al Doury, and would "offer their sons to fight for the victory of Islam and liberate the country from any foreign occupying enemy."

A document attached to the statement listed the names of 34 Iraqi tribes, which according to the group, have signed the agreement.

Al Naqshabandiyah Army is a group made of former Baathists and former Iraqi army officers, operating under the command of Izzet Ibrahim al Doury, mainly around the Baghdad area. The group has stepped up its operations against U.S. forces in recent times. This was evidenced in the increased frequency of recent attacks' videos distributed by the group.

Al Qaeda Leader in Afghanistan Sends Message to Supporters in Turkey In Audio Obtained by CBS News

(CBS)
CBS News obtained a new audio statement by al Qaeda's leader in Afghanistan Mostafa Abul Yazid, which appears to be a private message directed towards al Qaeda supporters in Turkey to ask for financial support.

"We, your brothers in Afghanistan, are sending you our greetings and would like to present you with some recommendations," Abul Yazid said. He advised his interlocutor to treat Turkish Muslims well and be kind to them.

After a small introduction about financial support being a duty as jihad itself, Abul Yazid explains that the Afghani al Qaeda group was lacking "a lot of funds" and said this was the reason for the slowdown in operations these days. He points out that the militants are unable to carry out attacks because they have no money to do it with. Abu Yazid claims that the situation is so bad, that there are many men who want to carry out suicide operations, but " we can't equip them because of the shortage in funds."

It is not clear when this tape was recorded, but it seems to be over six months old, as Abul Yazid refers to former U.S. President George W. Bush as being still in office.

Other al Qaeda leaders had urged supporters to donate money to al Qaeda in the past, like al Qaeda's number two Ayman al Zawahri, who once asked Saudi supporters for financial support. Al Zawahri's message was intercepted by the Saudi authorities in 2007.

Taliban: "Obama's Speech Nothing But Deceiving Slogans"

The Taliban's Shura Council released described Thursday's speech by U.S. President Barack Obama to the Muslim world from Cairo as "a failed attempt to dceive the Muslim world." They urged Muslims to remain committed to fighting in order to defend their holy sites and their land against "American aggressors."

"Obama failed to send a transparent and honest message to the Muslim nation," the Internet statement said. "His words were in vain and did not suggest any practical or realistic change to America's policies hostile to Muslims."

The Shura Council, headed by Mullah Omar, accused Obama of using recycled and deceiving American slogans that hid the President's true intentions to continue to kill Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, to publicise the legitimacy of the U.S. aggression in both countries and to deprive Muslims of their first line of defense represented in the Islamist militants. The council also questioned the President's credibility regarding his remarks on ending U.S. military presence in Muslim countries.

The Taliban also rejected Obama's talk about Jewish suffering at the hands of the Nazis, while omitting to compare that to all that Palestinians have to endure under the Israeli occupation.

The tape is from 2003-2004, as the banner shown in the video was that of al Tawheed and Jihad, the name of the group founded by al Zarqawi prior to his admission into al Qaeda in late 2004.

WMD Manuals Posted Online

( )
A large library containing of manuals and studies related to chemical, biological and nuclear weapons has been posted on a number of militant Islamist online forums today. Most of the books are in English and are available in the public domain of the websites. They do not offer recipes for the making of such weapons, but rather general info on their nature, effects, and what actions to take in case of exposure.

Bin Laden's Audio Focused on Pakistan, Not Obama

Al Qaeda's leader Osama bin Laden's latest audio statement, parts of which were aired by the Arab news network al Jazeera on Wednesday, focused on the situation in Pakistan and criticizing the government of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari.

The timing of the release of the statement, a day before U.S. President Barack Obama's much-anticipated speech to Muslims out of Cairo, and Bin Laden's attacks on Obama in the audio seemed to suggest al Qaeda's leader's statement was intended as a pre-reaction to the speech.

However, the release of the full 25-minute statement on the Internet on Thursday confirms that bin Laden doesn't mention Obama's speech and only criticizes the U.S. President in reference to his policies in Pakistan, which was the focus of his statement.

Bin Laden Statement: Obama's Policies "Pave The Way For New Long Wars"

In a new audio statement aired by the al Jazeera Arab news channel on Wednesday, al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden accused President Barack Obama and his administration of "panting new seeds of hatred and vengeance towards America" by supporting the military operations against militants in Pakistan.

"The number of these seeds equates that of those who have suffered and been made homeless in the Swat valley and the tribal areas in northern and southern Waziristan, as well as those who sympathize with them," he added.

Al Qaeda's leader compared President Obama's policies to those of his predecessor President George W. Bush and said they created "more enmity towards Muslims" and "paved the way for new long wars."

"Let the American people prepare to continue harvesting what their White House leaders grow, in the years and decades to come," he added.

Bin Laden's statement comes a day after al Qaeda's number two Ayman al Zawahri said President Obama was not welcomed in Egypt, where he is expected to address Muslims on Thursday.

Bin Laden also accused Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari of receiving his orders from President Obama and claimed one million Muslims, including elderly people, women and children, had to flee their homes because of the operations in the valley.

Taliban Video Shows Attack on Military Base in Nuristan

(Neda al Jihad )
The Taliban's media outlet Neda al Jihad released a new video of attacks carried out by the militant group against a NATO base in the "Zumyobileh-Nuristan area" last year.

The 55-minute video is entitled "Defeat of the Aggressors in Afghanistan" and opens with pictures from previous Taliban videos, including the footage of the attempt to assassinate Afghani President Hamid Karzai during a celebration in Kabul on April 27, 2008 and footage of a 2007 ambush on a joint U.S.-Afghan foot patrol in Nuristan.

The group claims to have intensified its attacks on U.S. forces based in this camp for 47 days until they were forced out. The video shows Taliban fighters, dressed in military uniforms, during their preparation for the operation followed by shots of Taliban fighters trying to shoot a Chinook down. The video also shows the militants firing mortars and engaged in a gun battle against the forces inside the base. Several Taliban fighters look like they were badly injured during the fighting.

A local commander called Osman Jawhari was interviewed on the tape. He claims the militants managed to down two helicopters and kill 95 U.S. troops and only 10 Taliban militants were killed. He also told a group of militants that he was confident they would defeat U.S. troops and force them out of Afghanistan. "We shall fight and defeat them here God willing, then we will chase them all the way to Washington," he says.

Taliban's former information minister Mohammed Yasser also makes a short statement to honor the militants who have been killed in the clashes. Yasser had been released along with four other Taliban leaders in exchange for the release of an Italian reporter that the Taliban captured in 2007.

(al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb )
The media committee of al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) released a new tape that includes an audio statement by a member of the group's consultative council called Abdel Rahman al Shanqiti.

Al Shanqiti addressed Mauritanians, advising them not to believe in politics and democracy and encouraging them not to take part in the elections.

He said they should stick to "jihad" and work on establishing Islamic rule in the country. He cited previous the elections in Mauritania, from the time of President OuldTaya till that of deposed president Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdellahi, who was removed by the army chief, who now seeks to establish himself as legitimate leader of the country through the next presidential elections scheduled for June 6th.
