/ AP(CBS) Fresh from their honeymoon, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge took on their first royal duties as newlyweds: meeting with President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.
The royal couple met the president and first lady at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, as part of the Obamas' two-day state visit to Britain at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II.

/ Getty(CBS/AP) Commoners can make all the fun they like, but a wacky royal hat is going for $30,000 or more.
Online auctioneer eBay said Wednesday that bids for the massive ring-and-bow-shaped hat that Britain's Princess Beatrice wore to her cousin's wedding have approached $30,000. And the auction has almost a week to run.

/ Getty(CBS/AP) CHICAGO - Sarah Ferguson tells Oprah Winfrey it was "difficult" not to be invited to Prince William's wedding to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, last month.
The Duchess of York says in an interview scheduled to air Wednesday on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that she went to Thailand instead. Ferguson says she wanted to be with her daughters, who attended the wedding with their father and Ferguson's ex husband, Prince Andrew.
