Prince Philip joins royals for Trooping the Colour

/ Getty(CBS News) Prince Philip appeared to be in good spirits Saturday as he made his first public appearance since being hospitalized earlier this month for a bladder infection.
The Duke of Edinburgh, 91, stepped out with other members of the royal family in London for the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony, which celebrates Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday.

The Duchess of Cambridge donned the same blue Missoni coat she wore for her first outing with the queen in March, when they visited the Fortnum & Mason department store in London with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

"Sing," the official song of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, jumped to the top of the U.K. pop charts and is now the top-selling song of the year, according to The Official Charts Company.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore the heels with a gray floral dress, an embellished coat and the same hat she wore to the Epsom Derby last June. Pearl drop earrings and a gray clutch completed the look.

Prince William qualifies as search-and-rescue captain

/ Getty(CBS News) Prince William has qualified as an operational captain for search-and-rescue missions in the Royal Air Force, Clarence House announced Thursday.
Flight Lieutenant Wales, as he is known in the military, will now command search-and-rescue operations in RAF Sea King helicopters. Previously, he was authorized only to co-pilot the aircraft.

Norway set aside May 31 for a day of festivities to mark the 75th birthdays of King Harald, who was born on Feb. 21, and Queen Sonja, whose birthday is July 4. Harald has been king since 1991.
