(CBS/AP) Coldplay, Rihanna and Jay-Z rocked the Olympic Stadium on Sunday night to give the biggest-ever Paralympic Games a rousing send-off, wrapping up an unforgettable summer of sports in Britain.

The three-hour party at the packed 80,000-seat arena in east London gave the world a chance to celebrate 11 days of Paralympic competition that have shifted perceptions and shattered stereotypes about the disabled.

George Michael makes pop history at Paris Opera

(CBS/AP) Singer George Michael has become the first international pop star to perform in Paris' Opera Garnier, a venue more known as a stage for classical music and opera.

The British singer performed Sunday night, as part of his "Symphonica Tour," to support French AIDS charity Sidaction. He was cheered on by a roll call of celebrities including "The Artist" actress Berenice Bejo, fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier and Charlie Chaplin's actress granddaughter Dolores Chaplin.

Taylor Swift to debut song for cancer victim

(CBS/AP) Taylor Swift will pay tribute to a young cancer victim with a special song during Friday's "Stand Up to Cancer" telethon.

"Ronan" is dedicated to a 4-year-old boy who died last year of neuroblastoma. Swift, 22, wrote the song after reading the blog of Ronan's mother, Maya Thompson, who is credited as a co-writer.

"Big Fish" musical to premiere in Chicago in 2013

(CBS/AP) "Big Fish" has another tale to tell - and this one will be in song.

A musical adaptation based on the Daniel Wallace novel and the 2003 Tim Burton-directed film will have a five-week pre-Broadway run in Chicago next spring, starring two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz.

(CBS News) Robert Pattinson is reportedly bringing some "Twilight" star power to Thursday's MTV Video Music Awards.

According to People, the actor will appear on stage with co-star Taylor Lautner and other cast members to introduce new footage from "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."
