/ Getty Images/CBS(CBS) -- Actor Steve Carell and the small-town Texas drama "Friday Night Lights" both scored some nice farewell gifts from the Emmy voters.
"FNL," which is ending its five-season run tomorrow night, earned its first series nomination Thursday morning, setting itself up against favorites "Mad Men" and "Boardwalk Empire."

The 21-year-old British actress, who got a little teary eyed at the event while saying goodbye to the franchise, first greeted fans on the red carpet in a tulle Oscar de la Renta floor-length gown, which featured a sheer neckline and embellished bodice.

According to Sunday reports in French newspapers, Wittstock tried "to flee three times" and first sought refuge in her country's embassy in Paris when she was in town for a wedding dress fitting in May.
