(CBS/AP) PARIS - The Paris premiere of "The Dark Night Rises" has been canceled after a gunman killed 12 people early Friday morning in Colorado during a screening of the highly anticipated film.

Workers were pulling down the red carpet display in front of a movie theater on the French capital's famed Champs-Elysees after the Friday premiere was canceled. Some could be seen carrying away a large mask that had adorned the facade of the theater.

Warner Bros. "deeply saddened" by "Dark Knight" shooting

(CBS News) Warner Bros. has released a statement saying the studio is "deeply saddened" to learn a gunman opened fire during a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Colorado early Friday morning, leaving 12 people dead and dozens injured, according to police.

(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - Fashion designer Vera Wang, who launched her label with wedding gowns, and her husband, Arthur Becker, are separating.

A statement from company President Mario Grauso to Women's Wear Daily earlier this week said Wang and Becker "mutually and amicably agreed to separate."

(CBS/AP) SAN DIEGO - "Twilight" fans today are mourning the death of a 53-year-old fellow fan, who was hit by a car Tuesday on her way to wait in line for a "Twilight'' panel at the San Diego Convention Center.

The woman was identified by fellow fans as "Gisella G." Fans told U-T San Diego the woman had been in line since Sunday for a Thursday afternoon panel on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2," the last film in the hugely popular "Twilight" series, set for release Nov. 16.

(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - A Tuesday reopening is planned for Greenhouse, the New York City nightclub shuttered after it was the scene of a brawl between the entourages of Chris Brown and Drake.

Greenhouse's liquor license was suspended last month, just days after the June 14 fracas broke out. A judge said Monday the club should get the license back while State Liquor Authority hearings play out.

(CBS News) A Saudi Arabian princess is seeking political asylum in the U.K., according to British reports.

Princess Sara bint Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the niece of Saudi Arabia's ruler, claims she faces persecution by members of her family and some of her home country's authorities, according to the BBC.

(CBS News) Anderson Cooper has been subject to much speculation about his sexual orientation.

The journalist put any questions to rest on Monday in an email written to The Daily Beast blogger/reporter Andrew Sullivan.

"The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud," Cooper, 45, wrote.

NEW YORK - Alec Baldwin and his yoga instructor fiancee have tied the knot in a New York City church.

The 54-year-old Baldwin and 28-year-old Hilaria Thomas married Saturday evening at St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. Baldwin's friend and publicist said the "30 Rock" star warmly received congratulations from well-wishing fans.

(CBS/AP) The Sistine Chapel Choir, whose boys and men sing for the pope at all his Masses, is joining forces with the Westminster Abbey Choir, the world-renowned chorus that last year performed at the wedding of Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.

The two choirs will sing together at a special papal Mass on Friday in St. Peter's Basilica, a historic event seen as a perfect symbol of Christian harmony after centuries of discord.

Conn. cops: Dylan McDermott's mom murdered in '67

(CBS/AP) WATERBURY, Conn. - A reopened police investigation in Connecticut has concluded that actor Dylan McDermott's mother was killed by her gangster boyfriend in 1967.

Waterbury police reopened the investigation last year into Diane McDermott's death after Dylan McDermott contacted them with questions, the Republican-American newspaper reports.
