CHICAGO (CBS/AP) The bass player Marvin Isley, who helped give R&B powerhouse the Isley Brothers its distinctive sound, has died at a Chicago hospital. He was 56.

Isley died Sunday morning at an inpatient hospice at Weiss Memorial Hospital, according to hospital spokeswoman Catherine Gianaro. She could not confirm a cause of death.

Stuart Cable, Drummer of Stereophonics, Dies at 40

LONDON (CBS/AP) Former drummer Stuart Cable of the British rock band Stereophonics, has died at the age of 40.

South Wales Police say Cable was found early Monday at his home in the town of Aberdare, 165 miles west of London. Authorities say the cause of death has not been determined, but no suspicious circumstances have been reported.

John Mayer Cancels European Tour After Illness

NEW YORK (CBS) Rock musician John Mayer has been forced to cancel the rest of his European tour dates after coming down with an undisclosed illness.

The 32-year-old "Battle Studies" rocker had to cancel a concert last night in Copenhagen and will be coming back to the United States to recover.

NEW YORK (CBS) A topless picture of Paramore's Hayley Williams randomly surfaced on the singer's Twitter page Thursday.

The 21-year-old frontwoman claims the photo was posted on Twitter without her permission.

"Well...my night just changed drastically, got hacked," the redheaded singer later tweeted.

NEW YORK (CBS) Those Madame Tussauds wax figures can look so lifelike - especially when they're actually alive.

Singer Ozzy Osbourne decided to have a little fun with his fans at the New York wax museum. A video posted Tuesday shows the singer posing as a wax figure, then jumping out at fans to make them shriek.

The stunt was part of a promotion for Osbourne's newest album, "Scream," which will be released on June 22.

NEW YORK (CBS) Country music icon Willie Nelson has a new do! After sporting his trademark long tresses for more than a quarter of a century, the 77-year-old "On The Road Again" singer is embracing a remarkably shorter new look.

The "waist-deep, reddish pigtails" that the Associated Press described as one of the singer-songwriter's "signature features" have, indeed, been snipped.

"Up To the Mountain," the song Crystal Bowersox chose to perform in Tuesday's "American Idol" finale, is rich in history.

A folk song with spiritual overtones, it was written by Patty Griffin and draws on the emotions of Martin Luther King Jr.'s historic 1968 speech "I've Been to the Mountaintop." The civil rights leader delivered that speech in Memphis, Tenn., just the day before his assassination.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (CBS/AP) Country singer and "Celebrity Rehab" star Mindy McCready was back home Tuesday from the hospital, according to her brother, after police responded to an overdose call at a Florida home.

The overdose report came at 10:38 a.m. at a North Fort Myers home, said the Lee County Sheriff's Office. The property is owned by McCready's mother, records showed.

Cape Coral Hospital spokeswoman Karen Krieger would not say why McCready was taken to the hospital.

An email from McCready's publicist Wednesday said that the singer's attorney has asked to review her medical records.

NEW YORK (CBS) Bootsy Collins is fed up with young people not knowing the history of funk music - and he's doing something about it.

The bassist for James Brown in the early '70s and then George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic through 1980 is opening his own school of higher learning -- Funk University, an online bass guitar school he is co-creating with actor-entrepreneur Cory Danziger.

"Rock The Bells" To Star Wu-Tang Clan, Lauryn Hill

NEW YORK (CBS) Hip hop takes to the stage as the seventh-annual "Rock The Bells" festival series makes its way across the United States this summer.

Renowned Staten Island, N.Y. hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan is the big headliner this year and will perform its 1993 landmark debut "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" in its entirety.

Multiple Grammy award-winner Lauryn Hill is slated to appear as a "special guest," though her role in the festival is not entirely specified.
